The place is really beautiful and has been wonderfully styled. We spent a lot of time outside at the pool, and then relaxing and making dinner. Caroline was a lovely host, and made sure she was available if required.

This is a 17th century house built with stone from Cadillac castle. it has an amazing sense of space with far reaching views out of over vineyards and barely any other houses in sight. Parking is easy and couldn’t be more secure as no one is around so you can leave valuables in it without dragging everything out. Fantastic, big, beautifully presented pool with parasols, loungers and lilos which you have to yourself. Wonderful house and the room you have has it’s own access so you don’t feel like you are disturbing Martine. The room is lovely , high ceilings, coffee and tea provided, big comfortable bed, tv, cool artwork on the walls and a lovely bathroom with an excellent shower.
The house is 12 minutes drive to Cadillac so plenty of choices of restaurants etc. There are four ponies and a horse to say hello to and Martíne’s dog, Onyx the flat coat retriever, is a lovely, friendly fella. Finally the breakfast was fabulous. Under the pergola with wonderful bread, fruit, pain au chocolat, freshly squeezed juice and if that wasn’t enough Martine’s delicious homemade cake, yoghurt and jam. Martine is a great host. We enjoyed sharing a glass of wine with her the one night we stayed ( hers was better than ours…) and overall she is interesting and interested. The bottom line is that we didn’t want to leave.

This is an annexe to house of owners: i.e. a REAL B&B, which I love. Hosts were out of their home to greet us as soon as we parked our car. We had one of the two apartment units which are tastefully furnished and had everything we required. Situated about 40 km from Bordeaux it meant we could visit that city but also tour the neighbourhood if we chose to. Frontenac has one bar which serves food but we had self catering: everything available which we needed. Nice table in garden near lovely pool.
Tip from owners: visit St Emilion. We did and were very impressed.
Breakfast plain and simple - but mostly home-grown produce. Nice touch!
