Food and service was excellent. Room clean and as expected. Lovely situation for a hotel, which we took advance of with a walk alongside the Spey,
To edit: The mile long tree lined High Street has an attractive square and village green and situated right in the centre of the Village is the Aberlour Hotel.

I couldn’t fault any part of our stay from the friendly welcome, travel advice (thankyou for the suggestions for our drive to Skye), beautiful comfortable and quiet room, fabulous shower, amazing breakfasts (try the whiskey porridge) and delicious dinner platter and dessert.
If you are visiting the Balvenie and Speyside Cooperage tours are recommended and visit the Coos a few minutes walk away too.

Thank you Sharon and Kev for welcoming us into your lovely cottage! We had a wonderful and relaxing time here. We enjoyed the space, the peace, the real fire, and the big window so we could see the hills from our bed! We can very much recommend the Speyburn Distillery (just a mile away!) and Caorun Gin (not far).

Location was great, it was lovely to sit outside and watch the river running by. The house was clean and warm and the beds very comfortable. Kitchen was small but adequate for all our needs. If staying longer ( we were there 3 nights) then perhaps washing and drying facilities would be good. will definitely recommend to others.

Great butchers on the high street, amazing deli and wine shop and a great whiskey shop as well. Decent local supermarket. The Hotel has a really nice bar that serves excellent draught beers. Plenty of local whiskey distilleries. Brilliant fish and chip shop.
Beautiful walks along the river and a decent play area for children.
Amazing fishing on the river spey that can be booked at The Aberlour Hotel and the cost doesn't break the bank.

A nice little town with all the basics, Co-op, Ironmongers, Paper shop and Spey Larder with luxury foods.
A good Fish & Chip Shop and Chinese Takeaway.
The river walks run very close to the town centre.
There are a couple of pubs, at least, but we didn't try any.
A pretty Scottish Highland Town with beautiful countryside surroundings.
And quite level to walk around.

Walkers shortbread factory shop in the village. On the whisky distillery trail. Close to Aviemore and Grantown on spey. Not far from the coast. Some lovey walks and wild life.
Only a few restaurants so be sure to book early.

If you are a whisky lover, the place needs no introduction.
If you are a whisky lover, the place needs no introduction. If not, still a pretty little village in a scenic setting. Lots of waking opportunities and ever more distillery visit chances. As they all close at 5 or before, we developed a habit of visiting well-appointed whisky bars, which offer you an amazing selection of a wide range of brands. They even provide fair advice on dram discoveries, I suppose less biased than at any distillery.

The walk along the river spey is very easily accessible and an easy and beautiful walk. The chippy is good. The Dowans Hotel was excellent. The Mash Tun had good atmosphere and choice of whisky but the food was average. Public transport is good and the bus stand in the town displays electronic bus times. Parking in the town is free and plentiful. There is a beautiful delicate essence/food and sandwich shop called the Speyside Larder.

Our first time in that neck of the woods.
Our first time in that neck of the woods. Aberlour is positively huge in comparison to a much smaller Dufftown, where we started our trip! Both towns, and all the surrounding areas are beautiful, calm, quiet, feeling very secluded and out of the way when coming up from Edinburgh! The walks anywhere around there are amazing, but especially in Aberlour along the river Spey, which looked wild, pristine, clear and sparkling.
Mash Tun hotel and whiskey bar is amazing, and the food better than anywhere we have eaten in the Highlands, and better than most places in Edinburgh.
Really really amazing place. Incredibly cosy with excellent facilities; everything you could need for a relaxing hideaway. Almost too good though as I never wanted to leave! Very good location for those who can tear themselves away though, easy walk into lovely Aberlour with a fab range of shops and cafes, and awesome walking along the speyside way or into the hills pretty much on your doorstep. Oh and distilleries seemingly round every corner so fab for a whisky break, which I’m planning on returning for as soon as I can!
Great location in the heart of the Speyside, near Cardhu and Tamdhu Distillery. Very warm welcome, Dave and Val are perfect hosts and provide useful Insider hints. The atmosphere in the Country House is just gorgeous, rooms clean, spaceous - esp. the beds are very comfortable. Very good breakfast, selectable out of a menue. Val &Dave offer also a dinner- highly recommendable. If you look for a special retreat in this area, Cardhu Country House is THE choice. (We stayed for three nights in room Glenlivet)
The staff are excellent - warm, friendly and very efficient. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent and the service in the dining room was excellent. They have an incredible whiskey selection. The hotel and the grounds are in immaculate condition. The location is great being above Aberlour and only a short walk from the amazing trails along the River Spey. The rooms are very well furnished, modern and well appointed.
We loved the country location and house - it was quite convenient having a very nice whisky distillery just a five minute walk away 😊. Other distilleries, fishing spots, restaurants etc. were quite close by car. Breakfast was delicious (perfect eggs) and our hosts could not have been nicer and more helpful. Sorry, I thought I reviewed earlier but I guess it didn’t go through. Highly recommend.
The Barn is lovely. Jody and Michelle have thought of everything and are terrific hosts. This is the first stay at the Barn but we have stayed at the cottage before. Both brill. The cottage great for a family. The Barn a great couples getaway. Easy walk into Aberlour. Handy for both distilleries and walks, Deers in the field next to us. Hopefully back soon
Lovely little family run B&B where the hosts, Jim & Eileen, made us feel like family. Meals were great, room very comfy, located a few moments walk to the Speyside Trail for some lovely hiking. Easy drive to the many distilleries that make Speyside the center of the whisky universe, many beautiful walks/hikes in the area.
The cottage is great, well-equipped and in a very convenient location, close enough to Aberlour to walk (and there's a walkway along the main road). The living room makes for a lovely place to chill at the end of a day exploring the area.
And Michelle was a very good, responsive and at the same time discreet host.
Good location to visit places although I was there to visit family.
Parking outside the door
Close to restaurants but try to book early. I arrived on the Saturday and couldn't get in anywhere in Aberlour or the next village Craigellachie. Drove quite a distance until I managed to get in somewhere.
The property was the in the perfect location for everything we wanted to do in Speyside. Sharen was a very gracious host and gave us some wonderful recommendations. The place was very cozy and had everything we needed for the perfect stay!
A stunning house, set in a stone courtyard surrounded by beautiful countryside. The property is fresh and spotlessly clean throughout. The bedrooms are boutique hotel quality and everything is well equipped. Wifi signal was strong.
The location is great, very central to distilleries, restaurants and tourist spots in Speyside. Heating is amazing so no issues in cold weather. Our host was friendly, helpful and responsive. Would return without a doubt.
The location was amazing and the property very clean with everything we needed for a short stay. Very peaceful and quiet with plenty around Aberlour and only a short trip to the coast or into the Cairngorms.
the hotel manager gave us the warmest welcome that we felt like the mash tun was our home. we received the friendliest and most attentive service for the duration of our stay. I didn’t want to leave 😢
Food was disappointing. Menu hasn’t changed in a couple of years and the Cooper Dog in Cragellachie has upped its game so I would say nice hotel but food doesn’t live up to the quality of the hotel
Beautiful hotel. Newly decorated rooms with modern facilities, quiet, we heard no neighbors. Downstairs are three different dining areas, all unique, as well as a nice sized pub. Very very nice.
Eileen and Jim are wonderful hosts, and the room was very cozy and spotless when it comes to hygiene. 5 stars and highly recommended for those who are visiting Aberlour.
