Oakhill, hotel in Alderwasley

Where modern heritage meets a warm Derbyshire welcome. Oakhill is a beautiful Grade 2 Listed (Georgian style) house built by the Arkwright family in the mid 19th century, as a private family dwelling....

This is an idylic hotel in a rural setting, the place is stunning, the staff attentive and the room we had was beautiful. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Hope and Anchor, hotel in Alderwasley

Situated in Wirksworth, Hope and Anchor has a garden, restaurant, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property.

Rooms were traditional with a modern bathroom. Tea and coffee facilities in the room, with fresh milk available in the small fridge. Staff were really friendly, went through everything thoroughly, couldn't be more helpful. Had a nice breakfast in the morning downstairs in the restaurant. Even if you aren't stopping at the hotel, the restaurant is worth visiting - food was really good quality.

    Perfect self catering accommodation.

Perfect self catering accommodation. Everything we needed and more! Not your basic self catering accommodation. There was care of detail with nice home from home comforts such as plush cushions cozy wool throws and pleasant decor. Everything seemed to have been thought of to make the stay comfortable. We had a very rainy weekend so relied on the accommodations comfort and facilities as we were inside for a lot of the weekend. It didn’t disappoint! Plus a lovely country pub with delicious menu and friendly welcoming ambience just a few steps away. Staff were attentive and couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. All in the beautiful surroundings of the Peak District and a short drive to the lovely town of Wirksworth, historic gem Cromford village and lively Matlock bath! Perfect ! We didn’t want to leave and will definitely come back to the Bear! Highly recommend
