Well situated in Alnwick but very difficult to access, the reception is closed and building locked until the bar opens, the car park is ample but the access is incredibly tight to navigate .
A 15-minute walk from Alnwick Castle, The Oaks Hotel provides bed and breakfast accommodation and a full food menu. This dog-friendly Northumberland hotel provides free parking and Wi-Fi.

Excellent staff very friendly. The dog even had a sausage breakfast. Spotlessly clean room. Fantastic breakfast we had the local Craster kippers! Can’t fault the hotel and location

Lovely little hotel in a very pretty village on the beautiful coast.
Wonderful service from the staff and we loved the breakfasts! We also enjoyed dinner one evening in the restaurant.

Very conveniently located for both the town itself, with its attractions, and for exploring the wider area, which is beautiful.
The beach is beautiful.
Parking near the beach is available but be there earlier rather than later, it fills up quickly and parking in Alnmouth centre is more difficult.
Plenty of amenities in the town for eating, shopping etc

Great part of the UK to visit.
Great part of the UK to visit. First time holidaying in Northumberland (have walked through it before) and it totally bowled me over. So much to see and do, so beautiful.
We had an amazing week here and will definitely come again. Walking, food, history it has it all.

Alnmouth is a small coastal resort with a lovely atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly and there are lots of amenities. The 9 hole golf course is excellent and quite a challenge. The walks along the coastal path are lovely. The meals at the Whittling House were amazing

For all it only has a small high Street, the pubs/restaurants were plenty and the surrounding buildings/area charming! Lovely gift shop and good delicatessen (though not terribly engaging staff 🤔) Ate at Red Lion and the Italian restaurant, part of Hope and Anchor. Great staff here too.
A pleasant walk around main part of Alnmouth and easy access to Craster and Alnwick (by car.)

Pretty village, some nice pubs and hotels. 9 hole golf course although I didn't get a chance to play it.
Avoid at all costs the Schooner Inn. Look up and believe the bad reviews and disbelieve anything over two stars.

Alnmouth is a charming little town right on the coast, in a picturesque location. There are many friendly local inns and a few local independent shops. Within easy cycling or driving distance are attractions such as Alnwick, Dunstanburgh Castle and the Northumberland coastline with a variety of birds to spot too. The beach is fantastic. Easily accessible by train as well as by car.
staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful after a complete mess up by Booking.Com. we arrived at hotel and no room reserved for us despite me booking in February. booking .com had doubled booked the room for the second if our 2 night stay, despite the hotel only having one twin roomavailable. the staff went out of their way to sort out a mess not of their making and resolve the issue. after over an hour we were eventually taken to the room with many apologies.
The location was amazing right across the tidal estuary from Alnmouth! I don't understand why there isn't a bird icon on the map!! Never seen more Curlews since my childhood and more Redshank than you could shake a stick at!!Over a hundred geese flying in formation every evening! Not just wading birds with Barn owl Buzzard and Kestrel and a range of smaller species from stonechat to meadow pipit!! Wonderful!!!
Keys in key box next to property. Easy to find with the given directions, without these would have been hard to find. Lovely little property above a double garage. Very quiet area, no noise. Facilities of high quality and standard, all clean. Location great for Alnmouth and Northumberland Coast and National Park. Walking distance to Railway station for mainline between London-Edinburgh.
Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Stayed for night after cycling from Berwick very happy with choice of accommodation. We bought takeaway fish and chips from 'the hope and anchor' just around the corner which would highly recommend. Although full English breakfast etc. was on offer, we had fruit, yogurt and porridge which was a perfect start to cycling onto Newcastle.
A very friendly pub with a comfortable, nicely designed room. The shower was particularly excellent. The pizzas were delicious and very good value given that Alnmouth isn't a cheap place. A short walk to the beautiful sea and coastal path. Alnmouth itself is pretty and well located to explore the Northumberland coast.
The breakfast was lovely, I stuck to the salmon and kipper options.. on our way up to Alnmouth the hosts rang us to see if we wanted fresh fish for breakfast and also whether or not we would like to be booked into any local restaurants / bars for tea as demand was high, much appreciated.
Breakfast was delicious with good choices on the menu. The staff were all friendly and happy to share their knowledge about things to see and do locally.
Our room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The bathroom seemed to have been recently refurbished and the shower was lovely.
Very good breakfast with plenty choice on the menu. B&B ideally situated on the main street.
Harvey was very welcoming and an excellent host that made you feel at home immediatley. He made honest reccomendations for where to eat on evenings in Alnmouth and neighbouring areas.
Exceptional property. Spotlessly clean and furnishings were beautiful. Location was right in the middle of Alnmouth with access to everything in the surrounding area. I would readily book this property again. Private parking is a bonus.
The location was excellent, the village is absolutely gorgeous. The hotel rooms were amazing, the staff looked after us and the breakfast was amazing. The food is locally sourced and tasted great.
The owner was really helpful and provided extra things for the kitchen that we needed. The apartment very comfortable and is right in the centre of Alnmouth and close to lovely beach walks.
Beautiful location, super friendly staff, great room for a very reasonable price. The breakfast was brilliant as well. Would happily go back and I recommend it to anyone visiting Alnmouth.
What a wonderful stay at the Red Lion in Alnmouth. The breakfast was amazing with top quality food on offer. The room was beautiful with everything you would need for a short break.
Good location and views. Spacious bathroom which includes a bath. Good to have parking as this is a problem in Alnmouth. Tasty breakfast served up to 9.30.
