A fabulous find. A modern, stylish and very well equipped room in a wonderful scenic location. The host was extremely helpful and easy to deal with. We also appreciated the minibar stocked with complimentary soft drinks. A great place to stop for a night when cycling round the 5 ferries route.

Stonefield Castle Hotel ‘A Bespoke Hotel’, hotel in Ardrishaig

Built in 1837 and boasting many of the original period features, Stonefield Castle is an example of Scottish baronial architecture.

It’s not that I wanted to go and stay here but rather we stayed here because there weren’t many other places in the area to stay. The room was nice and the receptionist’s (2) were both nice

It was awful in every way, from the weed strewn car park to the flies around the dining room windows to the walls/carpets marked and stained. The food was trully the worst ive ever tried in 40 years travelling. The staff were in the main young and highly inexperienced. The hotel is refusing to refund me for the night i didnt stay and booking.com are just as bad. This hotel wAs not as described-avoid at all costs

The house was quite cool on arrival and I tried to set the woodburner fire but the door was broken and the fire fizzled out. The previous tenants had left the heating on high so the cleaners had turned it down. I thought the electric heating was sealed and couldn't find any instructions on how to operate them. Both TV"s in the bedroom and the main room wouldn't work and the landlady asked a tenant upstairs to try to fix them. Roughly 2 days of our stay were trying to work out how to work the heating and TV's. The cleaner arrived and sorted out all the issues. We couldn't repair the bedroom Tv and a cable had become loose for the main tv. The landlady was unable to come out as she lived 40 miles away. The information left was minimal and there wasn't a book to find out what other visitors thought. It was also quite dangerous trying to leave the driveway onto the main road as visibility was obscured by parked cars.

I am an old sailor and diver who spent much time in this area in his youth and I really enjoy coming back as a sightseer to relive the old memories. My wife also loves this area too as there are plenty of places of interest to visit. We are both very much into Celtic and Pictish history and art and this area has a wonderful provenance. A couple of years ago I crewed for a friend and we sailed from Oban down through the Crinan Canal where the Vital Spark was berthed. Imagine my surprise when I saw her now at Inverary! There is still life yet in the old girl, the boat ,that is...ha,ha.

Ardrishaig is a great location... tail end of Crinan canal and if the weather had been better, we would have loved to take the walk along the canal... the scneery is stunning regardless of the weather and we love the location for island hopping to Islay, Gigha, Colonsay... as well as a trip down to campbelltown and up to Oban to catch the ferry to mull / Iona

Nice little town for a short visit.

Nice little town for a short visit. Interesting to watch the boats through the locks on the Crinan Canal and to see the planned regeneration of the pier area. View across Loch Fyne are beautiful and Lochgilphead is only a short drive away. It's also possible to walk along the length of the canal if you feel energetic.
