A pretty town with plenty of restaurants and eating options available. Plenty of walking opportunities within a few miles from Bakewell, as well as other scenic towns / villages, like Matlock, Buxton and Matlock Bath. Also not too far from the majestic Chatsworth house and estate.

Plenty of pubs to eat and drink, good parking available in and around the centre £6 for all day up to 6pm and then £1 from 6pm to 10.00pm.
The Rutland Arms Hotel has a great restaurant and bar which do great cocktails, you may want to book the restaurant in advance.
If your into walking or cycling you can try the Monsal trail which is an old train line about 8 miles long cutting through the Derbyshire countryside and you will go through 6 tunnels, this is not a loop so if you go the full distance who will have to walk or cycle back. Along the route there are about 3or 4 places for refreshments, the largest of these is at Hassop railway station which is about half way, you can have any thing from tea, coffee and cakes to having a meal.

What a lovely town with lots of great food options, cute streets and great attractions and walks all very close by. We found this town very welcoming and quite lovely. We were fortunate to eat at Lovage by Lee Smith. Nice!!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Rafters, the ground and house was so picturesque and lovely it felt as if we had stepped onto the pages of a Jane Austen novel.
We had two rooms both with beautiful claw foot bath tubs, which are a must on a cold winters eve.
Finally, the breakfast was spectacular. A full three courses, and even an vegetarian option to the full English breakfast which was the best I have ever had.
Thank you to the staff for making our stay so memorable!
Very convenient to Bakewell shops, restaurants, and attractions. Staff was very welcoming and appropriately responded to our requests. We arrived by bicycle and were allowed to store our bicycles in the foyer. The room was large and properly furnished. It had good natural lighting from large south facing windows. Breakfast was ample and cooked to order. The price was reasonable and I would definately stay here again.
An old coaching inn on the A6 in Bakewell. It has only 2 rooms at present, but the new owners are hoping to increase this shortly. In spite of being on a busy road it was extremely quiet and we were not aware of any traffic. It is well located and within easy walking distance of the town centre and the river. The owners and staff were very welcoming and the food in the evening and the breakfasts were very good.
One of our favorite places we’ve stayed at!
Not a grand or particularly luxurious hotel but full of character made even better by the wonderful staff. They went out of their way to make everyones stay a really good one. Food was very good too
The hotel is in an ideal position for the Monsal trail with lots of other walks right on your doorstep. The views are spectacular!
The vanilla choux buns on arrival were delicious and made on the premises. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were so professional and friendly, great customer service. Really lovely place to stay. We will be recommending it to friends and family and hope to revisit. Ashford in the water is a pretty village and very close to Bakewell centre.
This property is in an ideal location (100/100) in the centre of Bakewell. It is a short walk to the town centre and cattle market. The two bedrooms were very nice with comfortable beds. One bedroom has a shower en-suite and the other has a bath. There is an open plan dinning area and kitchen / lounge. The TV was like being at the cinema.
Hotel in the centre of Bakewell the rooms are not in the hotel but in an annexe and ours was very small and extremely basic for the price we paid. Thought the breakfast was very poor compared to other places we had stayed. Private parking is very handy and also the meal we had in the evening was good.
Good location in the centre of Bakewell. Lovely setting overlooking the gardens. Very peaceful considering the proximity to the road and town centre. Secure parking. Good hospitality tray in room. Spotlessly clean. Nice towels. Friendly and welcoming staff. Good breakfast.
Breakfast was fab also the location of the hotel is perfect right in the centre of bakewell. Room was attended to every day, which was nice, and normally, you have to opt for this. Also, everywhere is dog friendly. Super duper pleased with our stay.
Lovely apartment, very clean in excellent location on river in Bakewell. Communication was very good from the owner beforehand..no problems and we were vey happy.
It's very close to all shops, pubs and cafes. Having a driveway is great as Bakewell seemed really busy. The property is very well decorated and spacious
