Village Pub with rooms, busy and lively on the Easter weekend. I arrived after the kitchen shut but they kindly fired up the stove again and supplied me with a tasty meal. Cheerful and friendly staff for whom nothing was too much trouble even after a busy day. Breakfast was good. Big carpark behind the pub, which is in a small village just off the A1.

The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Lovely large room with 3 single beds. Coffee/facilities. Being able to open the windows was great. Being able to eat in the bar/restaurant downstairs. A couple of mins from train station. 15 min walk to Thirsk racecourse. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
