I went to see Cresswell Craggs, about 15 minutes away. This is so far the only place in the UK where you can see Paleolithic rock art - not quite Lascaux or Altamira yet but future excavations may find more examples. Nice museum/shop with good cafe and a fine day out. Lovely scenery.

Ordered vegetarian breakfast but no available the second day as no one had let the kitchen know.
Really awful was the wagons parked up within 30 feet of the window that kept their engines running for hours. No sleep till they left.

Superb stopover location with easy access to M1- the accommodation was as expected clean affordable efficiency with no formalities with welcoming staff and greet bar area to "chill out" after a long journey.
Surrounded by a choice of eateries within walking distance makes for relaxed stopover or break
The staff were all friendly and accommodating. The bed was very comfy and the room clean. Great for a one night stay. We had the room with a private bathroom. This wasn't an issue at all there were other guests staying we didn't hear or see them upstairs at any point. Infact we only knew about them at breakfast. We were a little later going for breakfast but nothing was too much trouble and it was a better breakfast than the 5 star hotel I had stayed at the previous week for work!
The lad with beard we could not praise any more , he is one staff member that is totally committed to his job , fantastic guy , nothing is too much trouble . What a valuable member of staff to have. Makes a short break away worthwhile when you a greeted with kindness and you have that staff member who gives the extra mile , because of him I certainly will be back with my family in the future and I will highly recommend this hotel.
Easy to get to off of the motorway, have good places to eat next to it as well.
The staff were very easy and made the stay pleasant.
Very quite in the hotel, didn’t hear any noise from the road or residences so got a really good nights sleep.
Hotel is close to M1 so it’s easy to move around. Staff very friendly and helpful if needed.
Room was good value for money and quite big (compared to other double rooms I’ve stayed at).
Very clean and comfortable room. Reception staff were friendly. Excellent Harvester restaurant next door which was convenient. Hotel was very quiet as its situated on a business park.
Staff always great at this hotel which I have used on numerous occasions,
Facilities are good and prices at the bar are cheaper than the Harvester nextdoor.
