Wheatsheaf, Baslow by Marston's Inns, hotel in Baslow

Located on the edge of Chatsworth Park by the river Derwent, The Wheatsheaf by Marstons Inns feature a bar, a restaurant and free Wi-Fi in Baslow. It is set in an 18-th century coach house.

Incredibly good value. Surprised to find such a clean, comfortable, well-decorated room for the money (we booked last minute). Recently completely refurbished. Tea, coffee, biscuits- nice big mugs. Our only regret was that we didn’t eat there, as we’d originally intended. It was very busy indeed on that Sunday afternoon (we should have taken this as a sign) and we fancied a quiet drink, so crossed over to The Devonshire Arms and enjoyed one in a pleasant area. We then made the mistake of eating there, too, and had a really dreadful meal (they couldn’t even manage a good fish and chips). So, there is a reason for the crowds at The Wheatsheaf! We will, for sure, eat with you next time! Big car-park. Easy walk directly from there to Chatsworth. Manageress very welcoming.

Characterful 2 bed cottage in excellent location, hotel in Baslow

Set in Baslow, Characterful 2 bed cottage in excellent location is a recently renovated accommodation, 4.6 km from Chatsworth House and 25 km from Buxton Opera House.

Amazing location within a lovely part of the Peak District with access to walks nearby. The cottage is really cute near a little stream. It is very well equipped in the kitchen with everything you would need. Huge aga-type gas stove which unfortunately we wished we could have used but didn't stay long enough to! The room on the first floor has a double bed with everything you need. The bathroom was lovely and clean with lovely smelling body wash and lotion provided. The upstairs room has two single beds with everything you need. The host was really timely in responding to our queries.

Standard room was small but nice. Sadly we're woken by banging above us around 3am. We later found out it was from the staff bedroom. We ate in the restaurant and the food was worth the visit alone

Lovely room with a comfy bed, modern updated bathroom with one of the best hotel showers I have ever had. The room was spacious and decorated so nice! It felt cozy and luxurious. We loved the breakfast. You could tell it was made with love. Bonus that the food was all sourced from local farms in the area. Such an amazing value for a really unique experience. The property manager was kind, helpful, and check-in/ out was so easy! The property was in close proximity to Chatsworth house. Must stay location in the Peak District.

The property was lovely with a little trail nearby and a nice big garden at the back. Only a ten minute drive to Bakewell. There’s also a nice pub next door to eat/drink. The breakfast was amazing and was great quality. The extras, such as being able to help yourself to fresh cakes, water and the mini fridge drinks was a lovely touch. Love the light and sound controls in the bedrooms. Lovely decor in the bedroom. The hosts were very friendly.

Myself, my husband and 6mo old son had a great stay! The lodge is really well set up and comfy, and has everything you'd need. It's in a very convenient spot and there are some lovely pubs, walks and farm shops nearby. The communication with the host was great - very friendly and provided useful tips, and very easy to follow instructions to get into the property. Would recommend!

What really made our stay memorable was the quality of the food served at dinner. Thanks to the chefs Joe and Danny. The menu was unusual and exceeded our expectations at a fair cost. The staff in the bar was friendly and it had a nice vibe. Additionally, it was a nice touch to be given birthday Processco and the complimentary local beers.

Easily accessible location in nicely renovated farmhouse on the edge of the Derbyshire Dales with quick access to Sheffield and the peak district. Lovely room, with equally lovely shared bath (except there were not allowing it to be shared due to Coronavirus, so we had to ourselves). Lovely homemade snacks, tea and coffee left for us in the room.

The kitchen had everything you could need, bed was super comfy and views across the moors were lovely from the outside area. It was very private with no one overlooking the property. The local dogs are very friendly. Loved the views and close proximity to Chatsworth Estate. Lots of nearby walks if you don't want to use the car.

Plenty of choices for breakfast and there was enough room to eat in safety. The bathroom was well thought out and we found the mirrors useful with sockets nearby. The bed was comfortable and there was no noise - so a good night's sleep. Well placed and lovely views over Chatsworth parkland.
