The Woodman Inn, hotel in Bedale

Situated in Bedale, 13 km from Lightwater Valley Theme Park, The Woodman Inn features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

Travelling to Scotland from East Anglia so was looking for somewhere about half-way. The Woodman had ample parking, check-in was quick and efficient and room was clean and comfortable. Had Fish & Chips which were superb! Being a Wednesday, group of "locals" gathered in the bar and took it in turns to play folk songs and generally have a good sing-a-long and a laugh! Was very entertaining. Unfortunately, breakfast was later than I planned so had to miss that although I was offered a packed lunch in its place.

Elmfield House, hotel in Bedale

Situated in the countryside of North Yorkshire, this family-run bed and breakfast offers spacious, beautifully decorated accommodation. Guests are greeted with tea and home-made cakes.

Property is in a stunning location. It was so quiet and peaceful. Kirsty was so welcoming, gave us alot of really useful information about the local area such as walks and local attractions. Our room was really spacious and the view was stunning from the window. Breakfast was also amazing and both the checking in and out experiences were second to none. We will definitely be back in the very near future with kids in tow.

A nice village for essentials but no family type pubs for eating. most pubs etc closed for food at 7-00pm which is no good after a day out further afield or after swimming at tea time. the leisure centre was lovely, clean and reasonably priced.

Pretty market town. Some nice independent stores.

Pretty market town. Some nice independent stores. Close to Yorks Dales to the West and Yorks Moors just on the East. Great location for access to many areas of interest and only a few mins from the A1. Recommend The Wensleydale Heifer at West Witton - 25 mins away. Great place for a couple to eat if you appreciate nice food and service - but quite £££ so be prepared. You do get what you pay for.

What a little gem, we loved this place, it has everything we needed and it was warm and cosy. Extra little touches like tea and biscuits were much appreciated on our arrival. The supermarket being right next door made getting supplies super easy. Our dog appreciated the dog treats too! Lots of places to eat in Bedale and we had a great trip the the National Railway Museum in York with our grandsons.

What a lovely house. Perfectly presented, very welcoming, warm & comfortable. A short, easy walk into Bedale main street. The extras provided by the owner were much appreciated, from tea, coffee, sugar, and biscuits to washing up liquid and kitchen roll. It really was a home from home. Highly recommended. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. We had an evening meal which was generous and the breakfast was excellent. There was a dressing table in the room which was very handy and they had decaf Yorkshire tea on the tray as well as decaf coffee. There was a bath in the ensuite.
