Disabled travellers need to be sure they get a room with appropriate facilities. Acknowledging a request is not good enough. The exact nature of bathroom accessibility should be clear - e.g. whether space for a wheelchair for transfer to shower seat and WC; Position of grab rails and drop-down handrails.

I booked this hotel because my sister uses a wheelchair and...
I booked this hotel because my sister uses a wheelchair and we were visiting crufts at the NEC therefore we wanted to be as close to it as possible. when they built the hotel they had no consideration for people in wheelchairs making the journey from the hotel to the nearby beautiful lake and on around to the NEC center.

Whilst i believe the hotel is being renovated, the carpets...
Whilst i believe the hotel is being renovated, the carpets in the bedroom were filthy. Looked like workmen had been in there with their dirty boots. Breakfast was terrible, Did not have no choice, we were asked what we wanted. When it arrived the sausage and bacon were under cooked. Would not stay here again.

To be honest we didn't really see anywhere outside the hotel as the only time we ventured outside was to check the walking distance to the airport - about 7 minutes, although the doors of the lift and of the stairs to the railway station/monorail to the airport could have had signs on them telling us where they went to. For a first time visitor it wasn't absolutely clear. The area between the hotel and the railway station and the hotel is pretty much industrial so hardly a tourist hotspot!AAnonymous
