Really comfortable bed Exceptionally clean toilet and shower room Lovely little welcome pack of biscuits and milk and coffee pods We loved that dogs were welcome and at no extra cost - thank you! Shower was lovely and hot and good pressure Owner was so helpful - we booked last minute as tired (been on road for long time) and he kindly booked us in at pub for dinner.

A tiny hamlet exposed on the moor.

A tiny hamlet exposed on the moor. Probably lovely on a hot summers day or a bright spring morning but best experienced in a November or February storm or deep snow. It's a wild place despite the road. Easy access to the moor, and the side lanes are safe to walk near the inn

It is situated in the middle of Bodmin moor. you need your own transport. The meals are good with reasonable prices. Bolventor is a very small place. They have a smugglers museum, gift shop , farm shop and Daphnue Du Maurier museum

Room a very good size for a single.

Room a very good size for a single. Bathroom was well stocked. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate sachets provided. Bible in the bedside. Peaceful room with lovely views. The bar was nice and although I never used the food facility it did look good. Only downpoints; Nowhere to put the well supplied items in the shower. A shelf inside the shower may be useful. The room it self was extremely quiet apart from the noise when other guests flushed their toilets and even more annoying was that you can hear snoring from other rooms.

The Jamaica Inn is a great place to stay.

The Jamaica Inn is a great place to stay. The Atmosphere in the Pub and restaurant while the shops have lots to see and buy. The rooms are a good size and have views of the countryside. It is very quiet at nights and the beds are great. We used the hotel as a base camp to see parts of Cornwall including Launceston Castle, Tintagel and Lands' End. We'll be back to see the Smugglers Museum and the Daphne Du Maurier Museum again as both were very interesting.

Staff were very friendly and assisted to our needs.

Staff were very friendly and assisted to our needs. The room was clean, with decent facilities. There was SKY TV in the room with ALL the channels which I thought was very good. The walls were a bit thin and we could hear our neighbours voices quite loudly and every time they turned on their taps (which was very often for some reason through the night….it wasn’t a ghost!). Bottom line, The Jamaica Inn is a tourist venue and food and drink is quite expensive. We were disappointed at the quality of the food vs. price. I had mixed grill which was quite basic, but cost just shy of £30.00. Deserts were also pricey. Breakfast was expensive too (Eggs Royale £12.95), but we had breakfast as part of our deal so this was in fact a very good deal for us so definitely recommend B&B if staying over. Bathroom was well equipped though a little dirty around grouting and could be deep cleaned more thoroughly. The wardrobe was a good size but the full length mirror was on the inside of the door and you couldn’t open the door wide enough as the bedside table was in the way.

From the arrival to departure the staff were excellent.

From the arrival to departure the staff were excellent. Great menu for breakfast with quality food and presentation. The restaurant provided a menu that would suit everyone regarding dinner. Bolventor is only a small very rural village with some great country views and walks. Suggest a short six mile drive to Golitha Falls, great walk to the falls through forestry and by a small gushing river that meanders through the forest. The Inn is steeped in history throughout. Cannot wait to stay again!
