FAQs about hotels in Bournemouth

Sea Air and Savoir-Faire

Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.

The town is centred on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road goes east to neighbouring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.

Booking.com also offers hotels near the BIC – Bournemouth International Centre in the West Cliff area. This convention centre and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre, located next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon that offers far-reaching views.

At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Opposite is a Grade I-listed church, and St Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of ‘Frankenstein’.

On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Centre, is Bournemouth Airport.

We only stayed one full day, and I will say there is a lot to see and do so a couple days is reccomended. The beach was nice, with some great restaurants and options for bars in town. It is an old town, and there are some areas that could use restoration, but it has a certain charm. Everywhere we went the people were freindly.

Sue, the proprietor was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I needed Oat Milk and it was supplied. The breakfast was the best we have ever had. The choice was Continental, Full English or both, top quality. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, with ensuite facilities. There was off road parking available. The hotel is just a 5 min walk from the beach and town, also just 45 min walk along seafront to Bournemouth. We will definitely be coming back...

This is a great value hotel. CLEAN but in need of a bit of updating. Showers can be a bit hit and miss with upper floors suffering from poor pressure. Anyone complaining about the cost needs to look at other hotels and what they charge. Come during Bournemouth Air Festival and you'll pay £100++ anywhere because it's about supply and demand. Come out of season or midmeek and it's very very cheap and pretty good quality for the many. Definition of GOOD VALUE, not luxury.

Friendly and professional Staff greeted us at Reception, was very happy and surprised to learn that we were given a room with a four poster bed which was very comfortable. The rest of the room had all we needed with a jacquzzi bath much to my Husband's delight and he went for a 'bubble'. The Hotel had 3 Bars, one had a very late licence (4am) i think that one was. Very central to the Beach and shopping, also opposite to The BIC and close to Bournemouth Pavillion.

I have stayed here numerous times and must say I don’t stay anywhere else when I come to Bournemouth! It’s within walking distance to the beach, the hotel restaurant is amazing! The chefs need a prize, not to mention- the bar tender makes the best mocktails! The reception staff are so friendly and the gym and spa facilities are great. A great location to unwind and enjoy, I truly love this hotel and will be sure to be back!

Really nice hotel, with a spacious, quiet and spotlessly clean room. I've stayed in many hotels in Bournemouth, and this place is a thousand times better than what you get for the same price in the main town. Great location, with a pretty beach and a lovely 30-min walk to Bournemouth along the seafront, and buses every 5 minutes. The management were very friendly and welcoming. Spacious apartment with all needed facilities available-like kitchen, utensils, washing machine, dishwasher, etc. Apartment is quite spacious. Boscombe Beach is quite close by car, while Bournemouth is slightly away but still nearby. It was great to have Netflix that kept kids occupied/happy while at the apartment, though we were out most of the time as we were lucky to have good weather in October.
