The quality of fitments in the room were excellet. Best shower, for pressure, I have ever had in a hotel. Our only interaction with the staff was when we booked in and had lunch. They were very friendly and helpful and the lunch ( a Thursday and Friday meal deal) was good quality, well priced and met our needs at the time.

Very charming inn in an equally charming cotswolds village. Very quiet apart from plenty of birds singing and not as touristy as some other places. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Best part was probably the beautiful food (cooked breakfast and dining). Lovely garden at the back and very dog friendly.

Beautiful accommodation in this very special town. Five minutes walk to the centre of town. This is the second time we have stayed at the Lansdown and we noted the refresh of decor since 2019. Beautifully presented rooms with a feeling of being at home, coming and going with your own keys to the building.
Very friendly welcome. Beautiful start to the day with a hearty breakfast and a welcome by staff. Parking on site.
Central location to explore Burton on the Water and the Cotswolds.

A lovely historic town with some tourist attractions within walking distance. We spent a day exploring the town and visited the model village, the motor museum and Birdland. There are many cafes and restaurants to choose from; in warmer weather it would be lovely to eat outside and enjoy the views of the river.

Food options are varied, good old English, Italian, fine dining and tapas. The village is beautiful with many old properties that are well maintained. Pubs are oldy worldly and very busy at weekends. Plenty of good coffee shops. Paid Parking is available at either end of the village if staying over 1 hour so no problem parking. Village parking is restricted. Walking options are all around and many locals are happy to oblige if you need directions.

Absolutely stunning, beautiful place full of character. We visited slightly out of season so was not too busy. Smiths is an amazing restaurant, specialising in gourmet burgers, you will not be disappointed! Lots of other independent shops selling a range of crafts, antiques and much more.

Beautiful village but extremely popular.
Beautiful village but extremely popular. Try and avoid visiting over a weekend if you can. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and there were so many people everywhere! And this was in October. Monday was much quieter but still people wandering around.
Much quieter in the evening once all the day trippers had left. Sunset was a great time to photograph the village with our the crowds.
Lots of eateries. Found the Wellington pub not as busy as the fancier looking places, but they did a very cheap and delicious Sunday roast lunch.
Bourton was a good base for us to see many other villages in the Cotswold area.

Great central location in the Cotswolds. Made it easy to get to Stratford-Upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath. Lovely in town hotel with very friendly and helpful staff! Room was very clean and a good size. We booked the King comfy room. Breakfast was terrific and had a variety of offerings...full English breakfast, smoked salmon, fruit, delicious fresh pastries, etc. We missed eating in the attached Italian restaurant but it was packed every night of our 4 night stay.
the staff were amazing. they had just experienced a kitchen fire three weeks before our arrival so unfortunately the dining room was closed. they took great care of us and made breakfast arrangements at a nearby hotel. we could just imagine what the ambiance would have been had they been fully operational. would love to return just to see how they are making out. one if the nicest and warmest experiences we have had.
Lovely cottage only 5 min walk into Bourton on the Water. Quiet, great heating and easy to sleep! Easy parking and check-in process. Fabulous service from Gemma who I needed to ring and check something - answered late on a Sat afternoon. Treats, oil, milk, eggs, wine provided in a lovely hamper. Plenty of room for a family with garden out back and playground over the fence. Would definitely recommend!
Our room was on the top floor (Room 12) and looked over the waterway and town, and was small but a beautifully appointed room with dormer windows, Bed was super comfortable. The staff were exceptional and we enjoyed a glass of wine and dinner by the fire in a friendly and well stocked bar on the cold winter evenings. This hotel in the heart of the Cotswolds gave us the true English village stay.
The hotel was aesthetically pleasing and had lots of luxury touches in the room (dyson hairdryer, nice bath salts etc). The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly - they really helped us out when we had a problem with our room on the first night and rectified the issue brilliantly. The bath tub in the room was a lovely touch. The food in the restaurant was outstanding!
Property is easy to locate. Short walk from main attractions like Bourton on the water town center, Model village, restaurants. Shopping center (open till 10 pm) is just 3 minutes walk.
Small house but well equipped with everything one may need. All instructions were timely given. Kitchen has a lovely view and quite neighborhood.
Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Room was to high standard. Breakfast was delicious each morning. Great central location for Bourton on the Water. The private carpark was a bonus!
Even though the weather was bad during the stay the atmosphere in the hotel was great and can only imagine what the place is like in the summer
Beautiful property in the Cotswolds. Well equipped and easy to stay in. Great communication from the owner. A real taste of comfortable luxury. Location and parking a real bonus. Great for us as a family of four. Loved the bathrooms and decor throughout. The beds were so comfy.
Beautiful luxury double room, even with fireplace. Lovely village location. Nice dog friendly garden. Lovely evening meal and good breakfast. Nice bathroom with nice shower and very characteristic bedroom. Great selection of tea and coffee and toiletries, etc.
The guest house was how you’d except a nice b&b would be in the cotswolds. It was very cozy, clean and tidy. The location was perfect for walking in Bourton on the water. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing to!
Chester House Hotel is situated in the centre of Bourton on the Water close to the river. The standard of decor is good throughout. The Italian restaurant is very good and so were the breakfasts. All the staff we met were excellent too.
Location could not be better, car park outside, village 1 minute, the countryside walks I minute, all good. Hotel is what I would expect for the location and "experience" of the Cotswolds
Great location, clean, perfectly represented by the pictures and description. Absolutely wonderful place to be based in the Cotswolds for a relatively reasonable price. Very comfortable.
Everything was perfect and it made our first visit to the Cotswolds so incredibly memorable. The room, the food and hospitality were superb. I can't recommend Landsdowne enough.
Breakfast was extremely tasty and varied ,great choices too , excellent location right in the centre of Bourton on the water, but a very quiet hotel away from the crowds ☺️
