The location was perfect with easy access to the moors and Tors. There was plenty of storage space to keep clothes etc. The kitchen was superb and well appointed with plenty of pans for cooking and crockery. The bedrooms were a bit dark because of foliage growing across the windows.Would have liked a shelf to keep toiletries in the bathroom.Perhaps a bbq would have been good to have in the garden.

A quiet village off the beaten track but only a short distance from the trunk road (A38) through South Devon. We dined in the Hotel. Superb walking on Dartmoor : the big Hay Tor granite outcrop is only 40 minutes on foot uphill from our quarters in the Rock Inn, or ten minutes drive plus 30 minutes walk if you are starting from the village.

    Small village with few shops.

Small village with few shops. The Indian restaurant was very good. Accessible to lovely countryside walks from the village. National Trust Parke on the edge of the village follows the river with plenty of walks. Situated on the outskirts of Dartmoor which offers wonderful scenery and plenty of Tors to hike.

    What a lovely little town.

What a lovely little town. We walked around and found the most wonderful art gallery that had local artists displays and beautiful work of all kinds. The people were lovely all over and the town itself is very picturesque and easy to get around. Lovely cheese shop and little boutiques to keep busy visiting. Loved it!

We were a small group of walkers staying at The Dolphin for a few days, It turned out to be an excellent choice! Plenty of parking space (even for one of our number who arrived in a motor-home) and a very warm welcome. The rooms were clean, comfortable & recently refurbished especially the en-suites which were immaculate & appeared to be brand new. Tea & Coffee was provided in our rooms & fresh milk & drinking water was thoughtfully placed in a fridge on the landing. We all slept well after an excellent evening meal from the extensive menu followed by drinks in the bar. Breakfast was served at sensible times, cereals & fruit juice followed by freshly cooked choices from the breakfast menu. All the staff were polite, helpful and cheerful. Nothing was too much trouble, all in all a superb small hotel with good facilities at reasonable cost located at the Gateway to Dartmoor which deserves every success.

The location is excellent, on a street that rises steeply out of the centre of Bovey Tracey, itself a good base for exploring eastern Dartmoor and nearby coastal areas. The front of the house has an elevated positions, with views over the Bovey valley towards the moorland. The house is small but quite well equipped, with all the household items needed for a holiday stay. And parking is easy enough - unrestricted in the street immediately in front of the cottage. Plenty of hot water and a good shower in the upstairs bathroom.

Josh and Natalie are so friendly and welcoming. The food hamper was delicious, the bread still warm. Peaceful, beautiful location with stunning views. Accommodation suited the 4 of us - cosy with books and games for the evening. Having the animals on site was wonderful, we woke up to the sweet Alpacas looking in 🙂. The farm is close to so many places to visit: Bovey Tracey village & outdoor lido, Newton Abbott for shops and cafes and just a 20 min drive to Teignmouth on the coast.

The hotel is obviously in transformation. The hosts were extremely approachable and polite but in effect we simply had a room with coffee making facilities. No room make up and had to request additional milk/ coffee. Room was ready and allowed to check in early. Hosts were very relaxed on check out time, probably as we were only guests but when booking site suggested last room availability

The Cromwell Arms is in a great location for exploring Dartmoor. Our room was on the top floor and was huge and really comfy. A very generous, and delicious, breakfast was included. We also ate dinner here - good food and reasonably priced. All staff were really friendly and happy to help with anything we needed. Will definitely stay here again!

The Dolphin Hotel provided us with wonderful stay on the edge of Dartmoor but also really near the coast. The food was excellent for vegetarians - really delicious and good value. Our room was large, more of a suite with a great shower. And all very good value. Thank you for a great stay.

We stayed over the long weekend as we had a stand at the Bovey Tracey Craft Festival, it was a super convenient location to the event. The bed was clean and comfortable, just a little too small for my husband and I, we are used to a queen size.
