What I didn't like...Unfortunately I booked an upstairs room, very noisy due the extractor fans . Changed rooms to the other side of the hotel ground floor. It was a lot quieter, but unfortunately there are no carpets on the upstairs floor and thus, when ever anybody came into the room it became noisy. So it's not a hotel for me

I only use Bridgend as a stopover as I could not find reasonably priced room in Cardiff that was in a safe area for a woman travelling alone. There was a big football match and concert on in Cardiff that Tuesday night and that is why I booked further afield as there was very little choice in my price range available.

Old Manor House with an old-fashioned touch, a bit out of times but comfortable, clean and with refurbished bath rooms.
We we arrived there was a school graduation party we had not been made aware of. Fortunately it finished at 10 pm, so did not bother us in the end.

I can only comment on Days Inn (where we stayed) as we were visiting family and didn't spend any time in Bridgend. The location was quiet, the room was clean and the staff were friendly. The bed was very good quality and we had a good night's sleep. The only downside was that there was nowhere nearby to have breakfast.
Pool truly is lovely, also the sauna and steam room too, the rooms are super clean and beds are very comfortable, great staff, helpful and friendly, the area is in easy reach of town even if you don't drive regular bus not far into Bridgend and Cardiff. Breakfast was tasty on the first day it was served to us which was tiny, however on the second day you served yourself which was much better. Overall good experience and would come back and would recommend but be aware of what I've written below.
We booked arguably the last available bed in the whole of South Wales over a summer weekend not expecting the best experience (This was the closest to a sea town we could get)
The accommodation exceeded those expectations.
The room was on the 3rd floor over a busy public inn but there was no noise, clean and well appointed.
We had two great breakfasts there (really cheap) and they are available from 7am
Very central place to visit many historic castles, seaside villages etc
Liz and Rob are so hospitable, there isn't anything I could find fault with during my stay. This wasn't my first time at Ballas, as I remember being made so welcome the first time I was in South Wales as a solo traveller, I brought mum this time!
The rooms are spotless, the beds are so comfortable, and it's in a perfect spot to get out and about. Breakfasts are first class, and nothing is too much trouble. Absolutely would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area.
What an absolute cracker of a hotel and restaurant, from the moment you arrive the staff great you with a friendly hello and you feel welcomed.
The room was super clean and comfortable.
The bed was probably the best one I've slept in for some time and a huge shower with plenty of hot water.
My god, the food in the restaurant is amazing. That alone is worth 10 stars.
When I'm back in that area, I'll be a repeat client. Well done to all the staff there.
Easy parking and quiet location.
Evening meal - the food was absolutely stunning, one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Talented chef / kitchen staff for sure. Such a refreshing change to my weekly hotel stays.
Nice restaurant area and cosy little pub part too
Staff nice, young man in the afternoon was particularly professional and friendly.
pillows and mattress comfortable
Really welcoming, attentive and delightful staff, clean bedrooms, lovely bathroom. Dog was allowed to stay with us. Had food one evening which was tasty and enjoyable. convenient, spacious car park, good location just outside the bustle of the main town of Bridgend, so easy to access. Also close to beautiful beaches, castle ruins, stepping stones and good pubs!
The hotel was very comfortable with friendly staff and nice rooms. Everything was very clean and tidy and the rooms had great water pressure which can often be a problem in these older buildings. The breakfast was good and the staff were willing to be flexible which is always great at breakfast! We would come again if in the area.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had to change to a double room due to a booking error but was fine for us. Lady in reception was very helpful when asking about local area and made us feel welcome immediately. Room was very clean, and fit our expectations. Outlets nearby also a plus.
A lovely little single room for me as a solo traveller. Friendly staff who took a kind interest in what I was doing in walking on the south Wales section of The Cistercian Way, which passes through Llangynwyd. Tasty and good value evening meals available and delicious breakfast.
Howard is an outstanding host, always charming, friendly, with nothing too much trouble. The room was great; large, huge bed, lovely bathroom. Great breakfast and an excellent location for the area. Couldn't have been better and we could have happily stayed much longer.
The guest house was lovely for our short stay. There were nice touches in the spacious room like a fridge & microwave, tea & coffee making facilities which was great. Tony was very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be staying again when we are back in Wales.
Lovely hotel in a nice location with plenty of places to go for a meal.
The hotel bar and lounge area had that cosy feel to it.
We stayed in the accommodation at the rear of the hotel. The rooms were very spacious, bed was really comfortable.
Value for money too.
Staff were fantastic. Especially the two girls on reception.
Perks, we liked that the doors were open 24hours so we could head back drunk and have chinese before bed.
We used this hotel for the wrestling as Cardiff was £1000 which was far too much
Great place to stay very clean and well decorated with attention to detail, kitchen was well equipped with a lovely welcome hamper, great location train station and super market and town center close by.good to see a variety of games to play.
Was like home from home very friendly staff being a business traveller was nice to have that. Only found this place due to hotel over booking typical for corporate business. This will be my go to for this location.
Located on the outskirts of Bridgend the property is well located for sightseeing in the coastal area of Glamorgan. A continental style breakfast was provided in the room.
Made very welcome by the owner Hugh, very comfortable and clean room, good breakfast both mornings, close to town centre, would definitely use thus B&B again.
