FAQs about hotels in Bristol

From Brunel to Banksy!

Britain’s 4th most popular visitor destination, Bristol boasts Brunel’s magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge spanning the River Avon. More Brunel handiwork is in the harbour where his SS Great Britain steamship is moored. Pirate walks here detail the city’s underground naval history.

Further north in Clifton is the world’s oldest zoo outside a capital city. Other Bristol attractions include At-Bristol Museum and the Grade I-listed Corn Exchange with its 4 "nails" outside where money changed hands. Also worth a visit is St Nicholas Market, in a Georgian square home to several bars and a Slow Food Market on the 1st Sunday of every month. Other Bristol shopping options include shopping centres at Cabot Circus, and Cribbs Causeway on the outskirts.

As a student city, Bristol really comes to life after dark. The live music scene here is fantastic and has given way to several internationally known bands, but for something more alternative head to Eastside.

Another option for alternative-seekers is the work of hometown street artists Banksy. Just like Booking.com’s Bristol accommodation, his work is spread throughout this fabulous city.

This Gateway to the West Country is served by Bristol Airport and Temple Meads train station. The old Bristol to Bath railway line is now a cycle route and makes a great day trip.

Bristol is a great little city.

Bristol is a great little city. Nice to see some of the UK outside of London. Very close to Bath, Cardiff, and other interesting places to see. We stayed in Clifton which is a very charming little village just above the city center and very easy to get to. Parking is a bit of a challenge but we managed to figure it out quite quickly.

Bristol is a place with a lot of history & the S.S.

Bristol is a place with a lot of history & the S.S. Great Britain ship is well worth visiting. Clifton Bridge & its surrounding area is worth visiting too. Bristol though is the graffiti capital of Europe - sadly most of it has little artistic value and the city is definitively car unfriendly with so many road restrictions and cameras everywhere.

We found Bristol a very friendly city. Everyone smiled. Loved the market at ST Nicholas well outside stalls inside too much for me. Plenty of coffee shops and even more restaurants no shortage of cocktail bars. Over all a lovely city will be back i promise.

We pre booked a trip before we arrived so just stuck to that. Hotel was fab next to an amazing bakery Ahh Toots it’s a must, food exceptional and the staff are too. We ate at the Little French which was the best and we also went to the Lido which you must visit- you need to book both before your visit as they are both very popular places.

This was our second stay at The Bristol Hotel, and it was...

This was our second stay at The Bristol Hotel, and it was just as amazing two years on. On arrival we were greeted at Reception by friendly and helpful staff, but throughout our stay every member of staff we passed in the corridor asked how were were and if we needed anything. Impressed with the efficient and welcoming staff team. Our Classic double room had a coffee machine, nice toiletries, comfy kind size bed and good shower and we were thrilled to be allocated a bedroom looking out on the waterside. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding, the standard of food was high, with big selection of lovely Danish pastries, banana bread, croissants: my husband had the fried breakfast which he said was great, and I ordered porridge which was made especially, and this came piping hot , the gentleman serving us remembered I requested honey on the side. We had a lovely break at this hotel, and recommend this hotel to anyone that wants a family or romantic break, it is in a great location right by the waterfront and is near all the bars and restaurants, Bristol Hippodrome, The Bristol Beacon (Music Venue). Look forward to our next time and a thank you to the staff for making our stay so welcome and relaxing.

Great city for shopping and sightseeing. Well laid out pedestrianised city centre and the Museum is not far away up the hill and is fantastic! People were good too and also the local Tesco shop was convenient.

Room was small, but we expected that. Very clean and serviced every day so no problems at all. Breakfast was good with a varied choice and very appetising . location is superb, a short walk through the park to Clifton centre and a bus stop opposite to take you to Bristol city centre. Couldn’t have been better. Clifton is lovely with boutiques, bars, restaurants and near the suspension bridge - what’s not to like

The staff were more than helpful, I mentioned when I booked it was my birthday and the room had a banner and some chocolates waiting for me and a lovely note. The room was out of this world exceptional. Clean tidy, the bed was comfy. It was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. I had been let down by other hotels, The Bristol Harbour Hotel really made my stay amazing.

Everything was very clean, including the great big bathtub. Amazing views from the higher floors, and the elevator was very fast, which is a huge perk when you're 15 stories high. All around wonderful stay, and plenty of delicious restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. I stayed in 4 hotels on my UK trip and the Radison Blu Bristol was easily my favorite.

The location was good, it's close enough to the centre of Bristol that it wasn't particularly difficult to find. The beds were comfortable, the staff were friendly and everything was clearly explained. It's worth noting that there's a number that you need to call if the cafe is closed to book into the hotel, but the staff answered quickly and came around to greet me.

Room was adequate, bathroom better. No view at all rally, but it is a city centre hotel, so I didn't expect anything else. Location wise it ok, a 10 minute walk to the centre, if Bristol has such a thing as a centre The staff were great, Megan and Chelsea were the stand outs. Not sure about the one who managed the late night bar.....

Staff are all excellent, beds are the best I have slept in. Breakfast was a good deal but it is a bit haphazard as not all items available together ie if you got bacon there was no beans, when beans turned up no eggs and so on. Excellent location with great bus service outside hotel for both Bristol and Bath
