Our room and our kind hosts.😌 they were so helpful at breakfast serving an amazing breakfast best on my trip so far, I think we were upgraded to the best room in the house at the regular price. We had some nice people to visit with at the breakfast table also which made it feel friendly. Fish Fry Restaurant. Fish and chips👍 takes a long time to wait if you’re eating in its 3 pounds more. You can buy extra ketchup there. Hey, I would’ve liked to have the skink soup which is haddock potatoes, onions, and I think carrot. I wouldn’t bother with the hamburger. It’s really easy to get around Bucky simply by walking. It was also an easy drive to Elgin for the day or Banff and McDuff for the day. We did both as we were there two nights. Johnson’s wooden mill and manufacturing: lovely tour was so interesting on how they create the beautiful sweaters that Johnson woollens is known for. It took one hour and it goes through the process of washing, dying carding, spinning cutting even two stitching on the handmade labels. Everything to perfect measurement. Amazing quality products I bought a beautiful baby blanket which I will treasure cashmere and Merino wool. There was another hamburger place we were going to try. I think it was brick and barrel but we ran out of time and went back for a second fish and chips. You know it eh? Grocery store had lovely fresh fruit. Very friendly people 🇨🇦 Canada

    Coastal location is absolutely wonderful.

Coastal location is absolutely wonderful. Cullen beach is fantastic. The little fishing ports along the coast of the Moray Firth are delightful. Buckie lacks higher quality restaurants but the Bijou cafe and art shop on the Portessie Beach is first class. Try the Cullen Skink (a fish soup) and the cakes are to die for. Buckie Harbour is building boats which is good news for the town's economy. The distillery trail is worth following if you are into whisky and there are plenty of castles mostly run by the National Trust for Scotland. You might even see dolphins in the Firth, and seals along the coast. The area is lovely.

Lovely seaside town with biggish fishing harbour (quite industrial - not scenic ) Gordon castle is nearby and we were at a concert there in the evening and explored the are the next day. Other little fishing town have more scenic harbours but far fewer shops and other amenities.

Buckie is a very nice small town with plenty to do if you like the outdoors with seal and dolphin watching. Cullen is a nice place to visit not far from Buckie with lots of antique shops, craft shops and one of the best ice cream shops in the area.

We used Buckie as a start and end point for a 4 day canoe/kayak trip down the river Spey from Laggan Bridge to the sea. The Mill House Hotel is a less than 10 minute drive from the Whale & Dolphin Centre at Spey Bay so ideal for a quick shuttle at the end of the trip.
