Northop Hall Country House Hotel, hotel in Buckley

Located in Mold, 20 km from Chester Racecourse, Northop Hall Country House Hotel provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

location good i.e. just of A55. But poorly signposted. Fortunately there were coat hooks on the wall, so i could hang my handbag & items up while I cleaned both table surfaces; both the desk and bedside table surfaces were too dirty to put my things on until I'd cleaned. Black tray for kettle was clean. Antiseptic hand soap & clean towels provided invaluable for cleaning the tables on arrival. Clean bed linen & towels - latter needed to clean tables. Bathroom clean. Quiet room as requested - signage asking guests to respect sleeping night shift workers. Nescafe & PG tips tea bags i.e. brands. But need decaf options or herb teas for evening. Single room size adequate. 1`st time staying in the hotel group. Would have been better off staying in cheaper nearby travelodge - at least I'm sure this would have been clean.

The house was in a perfect location, just a short walk from the centre of Flint and the railway station. We only stayed one night but it had everything we needed and more and was very comfortable and clean.

Hafan Deg, hotel in Buckley

Hafan Deg offers stylish bed and breakfast accommodation in the small North Wales village of Maeshafn.

Sandrine and Dominic were perfect hosts, friendly and ready to chat and inform when needed. Our hosts were generous in stocking the fridge with a mug of milk, bottles of orange juice and water, as well as fruit and a selection of mini jam bottles for the croissants and filter coffee for breakfast! The twin beds, at our request, were made up into a very comfortable and wide double/king size bed in which sleep was blissful. There were two armchairs at the foot of the bed for watching TV or reading. Hafan Deg is in a small hamlet, with The Miner's Arms (no food during our visit as a chef is being sought) a one minute walk away and two other lovely pubs a short drive away that serve food. The accommodation was composed of a spacious bedroom, another with 2 bunk beds and an adjoining small dining room. Outside the bedroom was an inviting garden and decking with table and chairs and constant birdsong. You may, also, find yourself sometimes alternating in feeling you are invited guests in either an English country house or a 'maison secondaire' somewhere deep in the Normandy countryside - the place can have that effect on one. If, like us, you have never heard of the Clwydian Range, then you, too, will discover it offers much for those seeking solace in an area of outstanding mountainous beauty as well as for seasoned hikers and cyclists. And then there are the not too distant towns with castles and beaches on the North Wales coastline... Hafan Deg was a most serendipitous find, indeed. Merci/Thank you, Sandrine and Dominic!

Shocking the beds the house the settee I’m shocked nothing compared to the photos on internet we had to leave early at 6am and just come home as all the family was to tired to even do what we had planned that full day it was absolutely pointless us even staying there I wouldn’t recommend what so ever
