A lovely seaside town. Lots of restaurants, bars cafes. If you like walking there are coastal paths to follow. Great for surfers. Attractive wharf which has a pub, cafes and a bistro called The Olive tree which does really good food. For a really good Sunday lunch The Preston Gate Inn is a must. They have a large family adventure centre with an outdoor adventure playground. There is also a castle which is free to visit it has a cafe with stunning sea views. Bude the town itself is the usual mix of gift shops and cafés, crooklets beach has a very popular dog café, local beaches are clean and water cleanliness is average for the Cornish coast, coastal walks popular and the lock gates in town has it's own little eatery and café culture the Museum is also there.

There is a great beach Summerleaze, which is really near the hotel where you can go on in summer or winter and have a great walk along the coast, or a paddle. There were lots of surfers out there.
There are plenty of cafes/restaurants to visit even in autumn/winter
Bude is a great central place to stay and easily visit other attractions in Cornwall and Devon - Eden project, Tintagel Castle, Lost Gardens of Heligan - just be aware that the satnav tends to send you down all those very narrow 1 track roads!
Only regret was that we didn’t manage to fit in a cream tea

I've been travelling to Bude for the last 42yrs, always try to get there at least once a year. Love this part of the country and the only place I feel totally relaxed and peaceful. Great sandy beaches, the great Bude sea pool, good food to be found in many places.
The sea lock leading to the Bude canal offers great walks, leading to nature trails, including bird hides looking over the marshes.
Great surfing and also great links golf course.

The location was perfectly close to three (Crooklets, Summerleaze and Northcott) of the four beaches that we typically visit when were in Bude. Sandymouth and Widemouth can both be reached on foot for those that like to walk a little further or are a ten minute drive away. Bude town centre and Sainsburys can also be accessed easily on foot or a short drive.
The resort was perfectly well kept, clean & warm accommodation. Staff very friendly on arrival, we didn't need them for anything other than check in/check out.
Room was great. We were very kindly upgraded and had a sea view and balcony! Great big bathroom was really nice and well appointed. The bar was busy on Saturday night but we got seated before dinner for a couple of drinks. Breakfast was great. Parking was tricky but the helpful receptionist managed to bag us a spot at the last minute. Super helpful as these spaces are like gold dust. We came to swim in the Bude Sea Pool, which was a short walk from the hotel. And it didn't disappoint.
Beautiful peaceful setting Spotless Room cleaned Daily and Fresh towels daily Good choice of help yourself continental breakfast cooked breakfast on request all fresh and delicious great position to explore Devon/Cornwall Bude about 15 min drive choice of 3 beaches 2 of which were dog friendly Paula is welcoming and friendly and is a great source of information about the area we were made to feel very welcome by Paula and her 2 sons Jack and Ronnie We will definitely return
Hotel location was very convenient for my onward travel. The room was large enough and had the necessary facilities. Breakfast was also excellent and served very quickly, which I had requested due to having to leave early.
I must thank the staff, all of whom were very helpful with both the hotel and other local knowledge and despite being very busy on my arrival, served me immediately. The Globe is a friendly place with good people working there.
Great location, clean, friendly staff, bring a fan for kids room it was pretty hot when we were there and bring your own shampoo and conditioner. Has a nice outdoor bar/ lounge you can eat takeaways in. Great views and sun sets. Parking is limited right outside hotel, there’s a larger carpark further away. Breakfast was decent. Wish they had surf and body boards you could borrow. Right in high street for shopping.
We have been coming to Bude for the last 40 years, from camping as teenagers to bringing our family for amazing beach holidays.
And now we have the luxury staying in this lovely family friendly hotel with added bonus we can bring our dog.
The restaurant serves the most amazing but unpretentious food and the staff go out of their way to make us feel welcome and nothing is to much trouble.
We love it
The seclusion - great fishing when ever you want - excellent facilities- BBQ - Firepit - all loaded with wood and charcoal - 1m walk to Bude via the Bude canal - so peaceful it was like being 10 miles into the countryside - well hidden and definitely worth a visit if you like the seaside and fishing - we will be back ohhhhhh and the best bit Kingfishers on the pond all day everyday.
Cosy and clean. Loved the wood burning stove! well designed and thought out with everything you need for a self catering stay in Cornwall. Lovely family run business with a good team of staff to help. Close to Kilkhampton for small shops and pub and bigger shops just down the road in Bude. Coast is a 5 minute drive and easy access to Clovelly, Bude and Tintagel.
Lovely welcoming staff, smiles on faces. Happy atmosphere everywhere.
Room was clean and comfortable.
Now the food. I have stayed in many hotels and guest houses over the years. Simply - wow . If you are thinking of staying you will not be disappointed.
All round experience was exceptional. Lovely Lovely people who care and have passion in what they do.
Great location at the top of town opposite the golf course. Our room was bright, clean and the bed was super comfortable. Saf and Ann are both wonderful hosts and really made us feel welcomed. Breakfast was also great and set us up for a good start to the day. We will definitely stay again and would recommend Sea Jade to anyone looking to stay in Bude.
A lovely hotel, very relaxing decor, spacious and comfortable room. Very nice breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Really good location- it’s a short and very nice walk along the canal to the amazing beach. The Secret Garden is an absolute delight on a sunny day. It all felt very covid secure. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily go back.
Such an amazing hotel and is right by everything! Location 10/10 and had a pub right next door! The staff were so helpful and kind and the rooms were a good size too with a good bathroom size. There is also a ‘secret garden’ around the hotel where you can enjoy some drinks with a view of Bude canal. Would definitely recommend staying here!
Our hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming. The location was very convenient for touring the north Cornwall coast, and the B & B itself was very easily accessed from the A46. There was easy parking and the guest rooms had there own entrance at ground level. The decor was very attractive. The breakfast cooked to order was excellent.
We liked the location with its proximity to Summerleaze beach and to Bude township - 10 minute walk.
The Brendon Arms was comfortable with a very good breakfast. Free parking available across the road. Situated next to the Falcon Hotel, which provided another choice for meals.
An absolute gem of a hotel. The rooms were spotless. The staff were lovely. The location was great. The breakfast was delicious and the cocktails were exceptional. Everyone we spoke to were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Bude.
The location was perfect. Close to Bude, Widemouth, Tintagel and Boscastle. The accommodation was so lovely. Very warm welcome from the hosts when we arrived and the cottage was warm and very clean. We had such a lovely stay and would look forward to staying again.
Short walk to beach, town centre and we'll anywhere in Bude really. Restaurant at location is amazing. Some rooms have lovely views overlooking beach and surrounding areas.
This hotel is top of our list when visiting Bude.
Walking distance to the beach. 12 minutes drive to Bude centre. 20minutes drive to heritage coast. Nice breakfast, they had a choice of Veggie breakfast which was a bonus.
