Burford is a great place to visit.

Burford is a great place to visit. The shops are individual and interesting and it is one of the best places for pubs with open fires in winter. It is a very attractive place with many interesting buildings. A short distance away is a wonderful garden centre. We ate one night at the Highway Inn where we were staying and the next night at the Lamb. Good meals in both.

Lovely friendly staff, they couldn’t do enough for us. Sarah sorted the rooms out. Ioan, big Jake, Ruth, Maisey and Grace were also extremely helpful in their allocated roles. Beautiful hotel and windrush room was gorgeous. We are there in the evenings and both nights the food was delicious.

Great location just off the High Street. One of the biggest benefits was being allowed an early check in time which meant we could explore Burford. All staff were extremely polite and helpful. We had a great evening meal and the food was delicious. The soufflé special was divine. Breakfast was even better, with a great selection on your table and the full English was really tasty and well presented. With such a selection of pubs / hotels then for a short stay I can highly recommend staying at The Angel.

We loved our brief stay at the Lamb Inn. It is an old inn and pub, with immaculate, large, comfortable rooms. We were in the Allium, which has the hugest bathroom! The garden out back is so pretty and peaceful. The inn had a perfect location, on a quiet street just off the High Street. The restaurant was good as well. Burford is a perfect stop on the way to explore the Cotswolds.

The decor of the room was superb. It was also nice to have a bathtub, as opposed to just a shower, and we were happy to have facecloths, which didn’t seem to be so common at other hotels in England. Also, there was a miscommunication about our room, however the stuff very kindly reconfigured the room for us after our arrival. Finally, the breakfast was absolutely delicious.

Staff were friendly and welcoming upon arrival, during the stay and our departure. We had breakfast on the two mornings and the quality and standard was exceptional. The stay was very quiet though for those overlooking the rear courtyard and the beds were comfortable Location of the Hotel for Burford is exceptional, also great access to the bus to Witney.

Beautiful dreamy spot—the staff were so nice, perfect food for breakfast and dinner (so good why go anywhere else??!?)—I wish I could stay forever. Torn between wanting to give them the rave they deserve and wanting to keep it a secret place!! I will absolutely be back. Won’t ever stay anywhere else in the Cotswolds!

The hotel is in the center of Burford and is a beautiful ancient building. Poor timing on our part as the restaurant is closed for refurbishment. The menu looked great. We would recommend the hotel, but not the top front attic room.
