The pool was great but needs some updating, superb location. Majestic hotel, which will bring you back in time.

Excellent breakfast and the staff were all really nice. It is dog friendly and they kindly set up breakfast tables in the side room for dog owners. It's in a great location!

Lovely, cosy cottage which was warm and comfortable. Great location for lovely long walks with a hot tub to relax in in the evenings. We managed to re-light the hot tub with the instructions - we used a whole bag of dry logs (bought at the on-site shop) each evening and started the fire a couple of hours before we wanted to use the hot tub, and it stayed hot for a long time - very tempted to get one for ourselves! Help is on hand if you need it. So quiet and private - we loved it. We had a great lunch at the Manifold Inn - everywhere is dog friendly. The bed was so comfortable!

Buxton is a lovely town with a beautiful theatre and the train station is central. There are plenty of shops, tea rooms, cafes, pubs and restaurants all within close proximity. There is a park and pavillion, which accommodates a gallery. Also, Buxton is a short drive from other tourist attractions ie Bakewell, Ashford in the water and Chatsworth.

We met up with friends and had some things planned and other things decided on the first night. There was lots to do in Buxton and in the area around Buxton. I felt we could have stayed for a week and found things to do each day and night. I was very impressed with the attractions that were open for us to go to and there was a lot of choice to eat in different Restaurants. There was a lack of Taxis, we tried phoning and got no where so had to walk back to the Hotel.

The most interesting small city and worth a visit, relies on good weather and make use of the spa. Check the tourist places and consider the beautiful theatre and pavilion. I recommend the Old Court house Brasserie for dinner.

I saw most of Buxton but with a car there is so much more to see and do in the area. Had a night at the opera; visited Chatsworth and Hardwick (which has amazing tapestries and history but is further away and would not recommend if only staying for a few days); Eyam and its museum; a guided walk around Buxton; Participated in Park Run 15 mins walk from Grendon B&B; Less busy and crowded than Bakewell although definitely would recommend a visit there; Gardens lovely to wander around; Countryside amazing and beautiful to walk in.

Great walking, pubs - shoppping.
Great walking, pubs - shoppping. Train direct into Manchester city centre or the airport. Great rolling Derbyshire Dales - I even found the Derbyshire Distillery - Wireworks - they make terrific Whisky - its a beaut!
The house is beautifully furnished with a lot of thought, with modern and clean kitchen and bathroom fitting together with a more classic living room and bedrooms. TV in every bedroom and the living room, free Netflix and BBC iPlayer too so we did not need our own accounts. The beds are comfortable with crisp hotel bedsheets. We drove there so the more remote location is not a problem at all, it is in fact perfect for going out of Buxton to explore other parts of Peak District. Really felt like having a home away from home.
Lovely hotel in a great location, with great facilities & very friendly staff. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed & a practical bathroom. Dinner in the restaurant was very good as was the breakfast. The hotel had an indoor & outdoor pool which sadly we didn’t have time to use, we would definitely like to stay again in the future & enjoy the facilities of this hotel. Highly recommended to anyone wanting to stay in Buxton.
The hotel is in a very central location in Buxton and it is easy to travel to destinations around peak district. The hotel reception looks grand. Food was surprisingly tasty and good value and enjoyed how friendly one of the head chef was communicating with guests during evening service.
A and e waiting time are much better than south East England I was in and out within 1 hour, however due to a small area a and e closes by early evening.
The hotel looks neat and very nice. The staff very polite and so helpful. The rooms are comfy and convient (except for one point I'll detail later). I didn't realise we would have a shared bathroom (but that's my mistake, it was clear from the website I just didn't pay attention), but it was not a bad experience, the bathroom was kept so clean.
Location is convenient just minutes away from Buxton centre and easy access from the road.
As someone who travels constantly this is by far one of the best places I have stayed, just stunning, they were over booked so I was given there cottage in town of Buxton, please do not hesitate to book botu cottage,it's central to everything and is so secluded and a perfect getaway, very high speck, a home away from home. Will book again in the future, can't wait to visit again.can not score it high enough.
Quiet location overlooking beautiful park but within easy walking distance of town centre, eateries etc., .
We booked Room 4 which was a spacious area with a double and a single bed. Well worth the little extra.
Good range of traditional breakfast alternatives provided.
Car parking on site an added bonus.
Excellent value.
Like the Hotel, Buxton also exceeded our expectations.
Right in the centre looking over the park. The room was lovely ,it was very spacious and clean.
I hadn't realised that breakfast wasn't included but that was my fault.
We have stayed in many hotels in buxton for around the same price which did include breakfast so that's why I gave 4stars
But again this is nothing against the tea room!
Great flat in the centre of Buxton, close to lots of nice bars and restaurants. The flat is cosy, spacious and very modern. Everything is sparkling and new and you have everything you need in there. The owner, Howard lives in a separate flat downstairs and we bumped into him a couple of times during our stay - he was very friendly
Hotel location is superb, easy walk to all Buxton shops and park etc. good that they had car parking and room internet with usual tea and coffee making facilities. All staff very friendly and accommodating with lovely dining room setting and especially perfect breakfast where we both had full Derbyshire breakfast 😋
Good location in a nice building, a short walk from Buxton Centre. Very nice flat, well appointed with plenty of cutlery, crockery, etc. Good, off-road parking. Flexible heating system. Efficient and smart showers and bath. Nice extras like Buxton mineral water and fruit cake.
Excellent location near all the Buxton attractions. Good size room, comfy bed, very clean and lovely polite staff. Gerard was a great host. Lovely to walk through the park facing the hotel.
Close to the station, the hotel sits atop a hill looking down on Buxton proper. The staff were lovely and everything was clean and functioning. Not expensive either.
Spacious room and pleasant staff. The hotel is nicely located close to Buxton centre and the opera house. The area is quiet and pleasant, overlooking a park.
