Located in Carbis Bay in the Cornwall region, The Loft is a 3-star property boasting free WiFi. Situated 2.1 km from Carbis Bay Beach, the property features a garden and free private parking. Margaret was a wonderful host and has created wonderful holiday accommodation for two. The cottage is very well equipped which makes for a very holiday hone. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back.
There were horrendously noisy building works taking place during our stay which we were not forewarned about. We paid £350.00 per night x 3 and the photos of the “superior room with sea view” just didn’t match out expectations. Room absolutely tiny, I have seen bathrooms bigger than this. The trip was for our Honeymoon and the building works and the small size of the room ruined our stay. The staff were lovely and I cannot fault them as ultimately they’re not in charge of the rate we paid but the owners need to look at this. I did complain during my stay and the reception manager offered me a slightly larger room but it didn’t have a balcony and that’s what I had requested in my “superior room with balcony.” The reception staff could see how distressed I was so I would have thought something better could have been offered e.g some complimentary food or a treatment. We spent a further £214.00 with the hotel on drinks and treatments. (After out £1,050.00). I would have thought after the room disappointment and the horrid building works they could have knocked this off our bill. The hotel is beautiful but I would be very hesitant to recommend it at present.
I'm not really qualified to talk about Carbis Bay itself. I was there to walk the Coastal Path which is above the Bay, but I did go down on to the sands along the way. The area is very beautiful. There were lots of young families there so I suppose it must be a good place for them. One plus is that there is a little railway that runs along the coast between St Ives and St Erth. Ticket offices, short journeys, very convenient and well used by tourists. If you're going to eat out, during the day or at night, best to book in advance. If you're going in a cooler season (I went in October) make sure to take warm clothes as there can be rain and wind.
Carbis Bay was so relaxing and tranquil. It was almost like being in another part of the world. The views were spectacular when walking from our accommodation to the beach. Just so beautiful and peaceful.
Carbis bay is lovely. I would also advise St ives. Lovely fishing harbour. Plenty of places to eat. And some quaint little shops. If you like eating out. We found 3 lovely pubs. The cornish arms in hayle. The blood and bucket in hayle. And the balnoon inn. In st ives. The beach in hayle is beautiful. Its a lovely sandy beach. Overall carbis bay and St ives is well worth a visit.
A beautiful sandy beach , perfect for families with young children as the water is calmer. Toilets are pretty clean. The beach can be accessed from both ends either via some steep narrow steps (tricky with toddlers!) Or via the main road route. There are not many facilities to buy refreshments and the hotel is very expensive (£6 for 2 cans of coke!) So best to come prepared.
Living in London, this part of England truly amazed and inspired us. The landscape is absolutely beautiful even in this rainy May. The golden sand gives the sea water the colour that you wnat to see for that holiday feeling. It is quite so osrt of family oriented holiday. Don't expect clubs or anything like that. St Ives is just around the corner for more dining options. The harbour is lovely. Transport is also good but need to plan ahead.
The apartment was extremely clean and perfectly situated for us. The kitchen was great, had everything we needed including a dishwasher and a washer dryer so manged to get all my little boys clothes clean and dry. Beds were very comfortable and had everything we needed for a great family vacation. Steep walk down public footpath straight to carbis bay beach. It took around 10-15 minutes. It definitely got the Hart pumping but lovely walk.
Lovely welcome from the owners who were friendly and easy to talk to. The property was immaculate and my room was gorgeous with a lovely view across the roof tops to the sea. Huge TV and a lovely cosy bed. The breakfast was super tasty and it was a lovely bright conservatory area where I ate. A great place for easy access to Carbis Bay beach, the station and onwards to St Ives.
Super friendly and helpful place. The room was a good size and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent - lots of fresh fruit and a good cooked breakfast. Owners were very accommodating of our early arrival and also storing our bags on after we'd checked out. Beautiful walk to St Ives along the coastal path and Carbis Bay beach is spectacular.
Good and quiet location, easy (though steep) walk down to Carbis Bay beach, which is lovely for swimming and has a cafe and restaurants. The location avoids the nightmare traffic of St Ives. The upstairs lounge has fantastic views and is a pleasant space. The managing agents were very helpful sending on an item we left behind.
Location was excellent, set on a hill very near to Carbis Bay beach. St Ives is just a 20 minute walk along the coastal path. The apartment itself was well furnished and decorated, with lovely comfy beds and fluffy towels. The owner was excellent at communication and was quick to answer any questions.
Very convenient location if hiking the coastal path. Beautiful approach on trail through village. Comfy, well decorated and furnished room. Full pub menu for evening meal and good breakfast in large conservatory. Staff busy running B&B plus pub but chatty and welcoming.
We loved the location midway between Carbis Bay and St Ives, both within easy walking distance. Accommodation was well equipped and clean with comfy beds and well furnished. Wonderful sea views from both accommodation and garden. Car parking a welcome bonus for St Ives.
It was clean, spacious and had excellent facilities. We will be booking again soon. We could see the sea at Carbis Bay from the decking area in the garden, lounge, kitchen and rear bedroom.
Sea view room took in all the beauty of the Carbis Bay. Breakfast excellent. Reception were very courteous on arrival even though it was 22.00.
Owner/Staff very helpful & friendly. Thoroughly recommend the hotel. Very relaxed atmosphere.
All excellent, big room, nice breakfast, good location.
