Our stay at Paddock View as without fault and I have no hesitation in giving it the highest praise. We spent one night here while visiting the Badminton Horse Trials. The property is very comfortable and decorated to the highest standards.

The hotel and the surrounding area are well worth the trip. We stayed in one of the cottages which was renovated to and excellent standard maintaining original features. The gardens are interesting. I declined to be shown to the cottage but would recommend being taken to the one given as the allocated one was not obvious.

The Hotel is not in Castle Combe itself.
The Hotel is not in Castle Combe itself. It is a short drive away from Castle Combe up a very narrow one track road. The hotel is wonderful and we had a great dinner meal there. Not so fussed about breakfast. We did not want a cooked breakfast and the breakfast bar itself could have been improved.

One of my favourite locations in all of the UK, I have not been back in 29 years and the village has lost no charm at all.
Hot chocolate and cake from a friendly gentleman in the village was perfect on the wet day that we visited.

I loved Castle Combe.
I loved Castle Combe. It’s a really picturesque town great for photos. If you’re there for longer than a couple of hours then the walking tracks surrounding the town are exceptional, especially during autumn. So many amazing walking trails and leafy pathways and wild blackberries all along the tracks. I spent ages just walking around. It’s even nice to just sit under a tree in front of the Manor with a book.
If you plan on taking public transport then make sure you plan getting there and leaving carefully. Public transport didn’t run there on the day I planned to go so I had to take an Uber there, but then getting an Uber out of the town is not an option (unless you’re very lucky). So just don’t take an Uber into the town on a Sunday if you’re also planning on leaving on Sunday or you might find yourself stranded.
There are buses that come but only a couple a day, and some are a bit of a distance from the city centre and you’re likely to lose phone reception if you try and walk to those stops.. so plan ahead wisely. But there should be a bus that comes right to the city centre- just don’t miss it!
P.S If you go for a walk outside of the main town make sure to find the Hollow! The little fairy house hidden in a log, inside it you’ll find a book where you can sign your name :)

Beautiful village.
Beautiful village.
I loved every minute of my stay however, 1 day is more than enough to explore the whole village.
The bridge, church and Manor house is a must see.
Foot at Castle inn was amazing.
Parking is available but public car park is some distance away.
I cannot fault this beautiful village.
Enchanting location very close the adorable Castle Combe. It’s even better than it looks in the photos. the rooms are delightful and spacious and clean. The bathroom was modern and lovely. We ate dinner there and the food was outstanding. we love everything we ordered! After dinner, we enjoyed a peaceful walk up the hill behind the inn in a literal canopy of trees, then across a field on an old footpath. Perfection.
The Old Court House was very well maintained, clean and as advertised! Such a rich history we found fascinating. The location was central to all thing Castle Combe (albeit a very small village). Castle Combe is literally like stepping back in time and absolutely overflowing with charm and beauty! The locals are warm and sell ice cream and cakes right out of their homes! PS. Castle Inn dining was exceptional.
Friendly greeting on arrival at reception, lent us a map and gave directions for the walk to Castle Combe. Evening meal was very good, but restricted menu, cooked breakfast the next day was acceptable except no fruit juice or cereals offered.
The room was nicely decorated and of an adequate size.
Very convenient location; just a couple of minutes on foot from the main village. The property was superb. The host was in excellent communication and offered very helpful info & advice prior to our arrival. I wouldn't hesitate to go back and I'd totally recommend staying at The Old Museum!
excellent location to castle Combe . the property is bright , very clean and excellent view of farm land . well equipped and tasteful deco. most importantly it was very warm even though the outside temperature was -5°C ! Highly recommended . I would definitely stay there again
Easy access, nicely tucked behind a pub. The room was plenty of space for a couple! It was clean though a bit of draft from door which did bring in a bit of dust and greenery. The pub serves breakfast and was good; really friendly staff. We also had dinner one night in the pub
The staff were very friendly, very helpful, polite and professional.
The room was nice and cosy and the food in the restaurant was very good.
The location was great as we were short distance for Castle Combe, Bath and other destinations that we came to visit.
A quintessentially English cottage in a beautiful village. Very well equipped and comfortable with a well stocked Kitchen. The vaulted cathedral ceiling in the Master Bedroom with a four poster bed completed our wonderful relaxing vacation in the Cotswolds.
Great property, and great location.
If you are looking to get away for a quiet weekend within walking distance of Castle Combe, then this is the perfect place!
And as a bonus, you get a wonderful view of the Ponies in the Paddock!
The breakfast was very nice with hot options service was lovely the people working at the hotel were more than nice and accommodating we enjoyed ourselves very much our stay was for four days
