We were in "Y" room. Staff were amazing, very friendly, couldn't do more for you. Check in is at the pub area downstairs and they helped us get taxi info and for another guest there for the same wedding. Breakfast was good but we paid extra for that. No sound from other rooms, big win. Location is good, street parking outside was busy but we managed to get a spot and it's all free I think. It's a lovely village in North Yorkshire so what do you expect.
Decor is nice too. Mini fridge, coffee making facilities all good!!!
Co Op over the road if you needed supplies but they serve food at a good price downstairs too.

We stayed for a single night but were made very welcome. The room was spacious and very nice, with a clean and very functional en-suite. The food, dinner and breakfast, was very good, as was the Wensleydale Bitter

The best part of staying at the Old Barn is without a doubt...
The best part of staying at the Old Barn is without a doubt the stunning location and scenery. It is a peaceful haven surrounded by wildlife and the wonderful North York Moors.
Its a great central location to visit the lovely coastline here such aa Whitby, Staithes, Saltburn etc and a special treat for us was to go to Ravenscar and see the grey seal colony. Blakey Ridge nearby holds a special place in my heart as does Rosedale where you will see some fantastic views. A drive up Chimney Bank in Rosedale is a must, whwre you will find the old disused kilns, and a lot of quality walks.
All of this without being too far from shops, pubs and restaurants. We will definitely be going back again when we get the chance. Can't wait for the next visit!

The owners and staff were friendly and welcoming.
The owners and staff were friendly and welcoming. We could quite comfortably sit in the pub, read, listen to the locals chat and eat some delicious food. Breakfast was perfect to set us up for a long day of walking and the views were beautiful.
