Situated conveniently off the A37 in a peaceful village just north of Dorchester, The Greyhound Inn boasts a prime location. The welcoming atmosphere upon arrival and the exceptional quality of food served make for a delightful experience, although the dessert menu may not be suitable for those with nut allergies, but there were options.
The bedrooms, located opposite the pub, offer a convenient stay; however, the room I booked was Maggie which had the boiler extractor outside the window, as it intermittently operates throughout the night, leading to a less than restful sleep.
To ensure a more pleasant stay in the future, it is advisable to request a room away from the boiler extractor noise. By doing so, one can potentially enjoy an exceptional experience at The Greyhound Inn without any disturbances.

A pretty village with 3 pubs and a brewery, recommend the walk around the village alone the steam. Minterne House a 10 minute drive is worth a visit and the church.
The coast is not far away and a bracing walk up Golden cap is a must.

Cerne Abbas is a hidden gem - absolutely amazing countryside and lovely village. The walking is immense - previously we had just done the obvious jaunt up to Cerne's Giant, but this time we found many walks to other places all starting from Cerne. The scenery is untouched and exquisite. We ate at the Royal Oak that was amazing and we heard from other people that food at the New Inn was also superb.

A pretty Dorset village with a range of shops, pubs as well as the chalk Giant. Ideally situated to visit Dorset -- both down to the coast (Chesil Beach, Lulworth Cove, Corfe Castle, Studland etc) as well as nearby villages such as Tolpuddle, Milton Abbas etc. If you are staying at the New Inn (highly recommended) ask for their local walking maps.
