We loved the location in the middle of the countryside with beautiful walks from the doorstep (the bespoke map with circular walks of various levels from the inn was a lovely touch). The rooms were comfortable and thoughtfully decorated with everything you could need. The food was exceptional (and we live in London) - much more than you would expect for a typical pub!

Room spacious and comfortable. Nice and quiet to stay with a young family. Staff super friendly and helpful on arrival. Breakfast was well worth booking, had plenty choice for all and fresh.

We stayed at the start of the summer holidays and hence were caught up in heavy traffic on the A20 enroute to Dover. Apparently that happens quite frequently, so factor this in to travel times. Very close to Leeds Castle, and not far from Canterbury and Sissinghurst so plenty to do in the area.

The Bowl Inn is not actually in Charing but about 2 miles from the village down a narrow and windy country lane. The pub is on its own with hardly any other buildings within walking distance. Charing itself is an extremely attractive village and well worth a visit for an hour or so.
We booked to stay at the red lion after it was recommended to us by friends,we had spent the day shopping in ashford at the designer outlet and were both looking forward to relaxing and having a relaxing evening and having dinner.we had already seen pictures of the room we had reserved but were both very pleased when we got checked in as it had Everything we wanted and more ..very clean and comfortable with en-suite bathroom with a lovely comfortable bed followed by a lovely cooked breakfast the following morning 10 out of 10 across the board.
looks like a regular village pub but the rooms are beautiful. we had our own balcony overlooking the garden, a super king size bed and a bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. very clean and comfortable. the bed is the comfiest hotel bed I have ever slept in. my porridge at breakfast was delicious and my hubby enjoyed his full English. the staff were efficient, if slightly aloof.
Fantastic team of staff that catered for our every need & more. I have many food intolerancies & Rachel researched & checked all their food & printed me out special menus. She even printed us out a map for our nearby Vineyard tour. Everything was spotlessly clean & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Big thanks to you all 👌
The room was great, clean and really well furnished. The tea and coffee tray was the best I have ever seen in a pub/hotel ! I love the fact that the owner left everything you need (water, and even wine!), and you can even order food from the pub in your room. I highly recommend it and will maybe stay again myself.
Characterful Inn with comfortable, attractive, warm rooms and friendly staff. Lovely rural location, but near enough M20 for an overnight stop on way to Dover/Folkestone.
Big patio area.
Very good restaurant.
Would definitely stay again.
We paid for an evening meal which was exceptional, we left for the tunnel crossing before breakfast, however they supplied us with sandwiches, fruit and drinks. This was excellent and fresh and tasty as the meal the evening before.
A little gem of a pub hotel. The room was excellent and a lovely touch having complimentary water a small prosecco bottles in the room. The food was excellent in the pub and the staff extremely friendly and helpful
