We loved the location in the middle of the countryside with beautiful walks from the doorstep (the bespoke map with circular walks of various levels from the inn was a lovely touch). The rooms were comfortable and thoughtfully decorated with everything you could need. The food was exceptional (and we live in London) - much more than you would expect for a typical pub!

We stayed at the start of the summer holidays and hence were caught up in heavy traffic on the A20 enroute to Dover. Apparently that happens quite frequently, so factor this in to travel times. The Bowl Inn is not actually in Charing but about 2 miles...
The Bowl Inn is not actually in Charing but about 2 miles from the village down a narrow and windy country lane. The pub is on its own with hardly any other buildings within walking distance. Charing itself is an extremely attractive village and well worth a visit for an hour or so.
