Great welcome even though we arrived earlier than check in. Staff were all very helpful, rooms clean and comfortable and lovely lounge for relaxing with a magazine after a long walk. Delicious dinner too.

The new owners, Craig and Aiden, acquired the inn around the time I booked the stay, the booking having been made on the strength of the reviews before they purchased it. However, they have ‘hit the ground running’ and if they do not succeed, there is no justice in the world!! The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was sumptuous. The breakfasts could not be faulted and the menus for lunch and evening meals were based on delicious local produce. In short, a top notch place to explore North Devon.

John was an excellent host, warm, friendly and made sure our stay was an enjoyable one which it was. The setting is lovely and the pub has great atmsosphere with a real mix of locals and visitors. The staff are so friendly and this is a truly dog-friendly place to stay. There's even a fenced off area for dogs to be able to run off lead. The food is really good too - proper home-cooked pub food and a great breakfast. We felt so welcome and would love to go back.
