Everything about this stay was excellent - apart from the fact that there was no WI-Fi available, from when I arrived at around 19:40 until I departed at around 07:20 the next day. I really needed Wi-Fi as I had just returned from Istanbul and had used up my inclusive allowances, which were not due to begin again until the following day.
The lack of WiFi caused me some problems, as I needed to contact two colleagues to brief them about the day ahead. The owner told me that the problem lay with my phone/laptop, as she could get the Wi-Fi on her phone. She showed me this on her phone to 'prove it was true.'
The next morning the male owner was serving my breakfast and overheard me telling someone about the Wi-Fi issue. He then flashed a phone screen at me and said 'it was a BT issue with the Wi-Fi last night, it says so here'. To be honest I saw the screen for about 10 seconds, certainly not long enough to read it. And if there was an 'outage' in the area, why did his wife claim that she had Wi-Fi the previous evening? Either way, I feel that they were not entirely honest, which I would have appreciated. In all other aspects it was a lovely stay, and all the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful.

A quiet but lovely little town with a very friendly atmosphere and sense of community. A bonus of visiting in December is the Christmas lights, which add extra charm. The only negative, when visiting family in the town, is the lack of a railway station - without a car, it takes a cab ride from Ely or Huntingdon (the nearest stations) to get there.

Gorgeous Georgian house on Chatteris main street, very recently converted into a hotel. Staff/Owners superb, really helpful with bikes (cleared a space for us specially), bags, checking in, local advice. Breakfast was superb, and astoundingly good value. Owners have plans to sympathetically refurbish progressively, it's already a bit of a gem so it will doubtless get better still. Good location for all of north Cambs - we were cycling London to Lincoln, so it made a great stopover on day one.
A charming building with lots of character. Very quiet considering it’s in the middle of Chatteris. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. A lovely breakfast with lots of choice.
I had a single room which was compact and very clean. The en-suite was a good size and the shower was nice and hot.
(I had a peak at the double rooms and they looked lovely).
Good breakfast, lovely host. Evening dinner was good, staff were excellent - very friendly and good service. The hotel is full of old curiosities and very traditional. Enjoyed taking part in the pub quiz even though we came last! Stayed in a room with a Taster bed. The rooms were very clean if old fashioned but had everything you needed.
I was working odd hours, the hotel managed to place me in an external room, which meant not disturbing guests when coming back in the early hours of the morning. The room was faultless, always kept tidy and clean by housekeeping. Breakfast was fantastic, recommend the full English included in the price. Will happily use this hotel again.
I had a very pleasant stay at The Bramley Hotel. Justin made me feel most welcome and couldn't do enough to ensure I had a good stay. Free onsite parking, spacious and quiet room, and an excellent breakfast in a Covid secure environment. Highly recommend!
Large, commodious bedroom with good quality 'nibbles' and toiletries. The historic nature of the hotel was a constant delight and the owners deserve much credit for steering this hotel with such success through the darkest waters of the pandemic.
A lovely, very old and quirky hotel with lots of history. Very pleasant and helpful staff and a good menu offered with food that was well presented and good value. I would book at this hotel again if I am working in the area.
This was a very last minute booking due to work requirments. The location for us was perfect and the hotel was very nice, clean, comfortable and staff were friendly and helpfull. The food was very good and reasonably priced.
A lovely old hotel with lots of character. A nice host very obliging. Room had a fan and water beside the bed. Useful with weather having at moment . A nice cooked English breakfast.
The rooms and whole hotel was rather quirky and olde worlde but i loved it. Wonderfully comfy bed... Two bottles of water much needed and appreciated.
The breakfast was lovely!
