The Langford Inn, hotel in Cheddar

Adjacent to The Langford Inn are en suite bedrooms housed in 2 converted 17th-century barns with exposed beams, original brickwork, oak floors and luxuries for modern living.

Room was immaculate and we had complimentary drinks as well. The breakfast was cooked fresh to order and had plenty to chose from. If we were in the area again would definitely stay there again.

The rural setting close to the Cheddar Gorge. The accommodation adjacent to the 17th Century in a converted farm building was ideal. The aspect facing south west gives a sunny position for most of the afternoon and evening. nice walking down School Lane onto land managed by the Forestry Commission. good weather over the weekend accompanied by nice meals and a good wine list

The George Inn Wedmore, hotel in Cheddar

The George Inn Wedmore has a garden, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Wedmore.

What a lovely hotel in a beautiful area. Upon booking, the hotel looked a lovely place to stay but was even nicer than we expected. Excellent value for the price. Staff were so friendly and welcoming, the rooms were lovely and comfy (we had a double, our friends paid a little extra for the king). There are lots of original features of the building that compliment its character and I loved hearing the church bells ringing in the morning. We didn't eat here but ate at the Indian restaurant in the evening that's joined to the building which everyone really enjoyed - apparently they are moving around the corner soon. Location was great with lovely scenery and a few pubs within walking distance with good beer gardens which we enjoyed in the sunshine, a craft beer place opposite the hotel and a place around the corner that often has live music. What more could you want! One of our party also enjoyed a visit to Roger Wilkins cider farm on the way - apparently a must for cider drinkers and cheese lovers! We were hoping to book another overnight stay in the next few months but I was sad to see they are fully booked on weekends for a while which says a lot.

Cheddar Village is lovely. Nice pubs, Café and gift shops.

Cheddar Village is lovely. Nice pubs, Café and gift shops. Can get quite busy at weekends. We stayed close enough to walk there. Surrounding places to visit include Glastonbury and Wells. Walked the Gorge, Which is quite tough in places. There is a free route and you can come down Jacob’s ladder free of charge. (You pay to walk up it) There are other flatter walks suitable for older people and children. Felt that the entry fee to the caves was very high £25 each.

    Cheddar Gorge is very impressive.

Cheddar Gorge is very impressive. We had rather bad weather so wwren't able to walk along the top, which I imagine would be lovely on a good day. Gough's cave is worth visiting - and you get to see the cheese stored there. Cox' s cave is more of a new age experience with lights and sounds etc. Actually I think that it would have been rather intersting ib it's natural state!

Very interesting area, lots to see and do but the attractions all seemed very expensive. The gorge is really impressive though, Plenty of cafes and restaurants, we had a few good pub meals and lovely ice cream. Staff at the Riverside Inn were very helpful with providing gluten free food. Spent a nice day at the Chew Valley lakes where there is a gluten free chip shop (a rarity!). Lovely countryside, however, it was very busy. The noisy bikes and cars whizzing around at over the speed limit spoiled it a bit for us. It was quite dangerous walking along the gorge in some places.

Cheddar Gorge is a fantastic natural phenomenon.

Cheddar Gorge is a fantastic natural phenomenon. Exploring the caves is an absolute must and you are given a Wi-Fi device to use for an audio explanation as to how the caves were formed. Jacobs Ladder isn’t for the faint hearted, 274 steps in all but once at the top a short climb up the viewing tower is a must, amazing view all round. We walked along the path at the top of the gorge which just keeps giving more and more spectacular photo opportunities. I would recommend you go earlier in the morning to ensure you get a parking place as during the later part of the morning everything seemed to be very busy . Plenty of little cafes and quaint tea rooms to check out but beware of the prices !!

Location only Not "hotel" its a pub

Location only Not "hotel" its a pub This place is a glorified pub.It was crowded in the bar on arrival with no quiet reception area. You just have to join the pub crowd at the bar. Good job I left my luggage in the car. There is no comfy lounge or quiet space whatsoever. The room was big noisy with windows that did not close. The Bathroom is in need of TLC. It was draughty & cold. The guy who received me was polite but the woman in the morning was positively rude to me. The girl serving breakfast looked like she was doing me a favour- she was hostile with no eye contact. Breakfast was disgusting with stale muffins Lathered in Hollandase; this was not stated on menu & is disgusting to me. The spinach beneath the eggs were sopping wet with water seeping into the muffins. Having driven from Falmouth this was a huge disappointment. It is not a Hotel just a pub with rooms so do not be misled by the lovely architecture of Bath stone!

The property has good car parking, and accomodation is quite. The property is located just 1 mile from Cheddar Gorge. We were welcomed by property owner (Mag) and took us to room. Room is quite spacious and maintained well. The bathroom is well maintained. The Rooms have a common kitchen and well equipped. I would recommend travellers to make the choices (based on availability) and stay here. They provide multiple types of Breakfast services too.

Effective central heating , very well equipped for guests. Great to have additional wc downstairs too. Lovely village, close to Cheddar and not far from Wells. Very pretty countryside surrounding. Pleasant sitting out area. Friendly welcome from owners.

Stayed in one of the static caravans. Lovely location with parking right outside the door, patio doors onto decking overlooking the river. Very comfy bed, good size open plan lounge/diner area with nice big sofas and a decent TV. Quite well equipped, most of things we needed to cook were provided. A welcome pack with information about the area would have been nice though. No towels provided but gave us some when we asked.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Cheddar Woods and we were pleasantly surprised not only by the quiet location of the resort but also by the size and quality of the lodge. Upon our arrival, the weather wasn't at its best with gail forced wind and plenty of rain. However, as soon as we stepped into the lodge we couldn't hear anything of the storm anymore.

Had a very enjoyable stay here. It's well located, just a few mins walk to Cheddar's main attractions. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, even when I requested a room change last minute. The room itself was well furnished and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with lots of cups of tea!

The Stables were a fabulous place to stay. Everything you could wish for and need...a real home from home. A great location too, being only 10 mins or so to Cheddar and 20 mins or so to Wells (both great days out). Hosts were lovely and we'd definitely recommend everyone to stay there.
