I'm always a little torn with regard to giving reviews when we stay somewhere nice as it just encourages more people to stay then we can't get a room when we want one! In this case, however, the place was so good, I couldn't keep quiet....
The staff were all excellent - friendly, polite and accommodating.
The room wasn't massive but was very comfortable and well equipped.
The bar was great - small and traditional.
The beer was excellent and well kept and the food was outstanding.
I cannot recommend the Stapylton highly enough and will definitely be returning.
One tip - the restaurant is soooooo popular that I would recommend booking in advance....

The food was excellent quality and very good value, especially the Sunday lunch. All very fresh, perfectly cooked and well presented. Excellent service too.
Bed was very comfortable and we both slept well.
Also liked the unusual age of the building and information on its history.
