From the minute we arrived we felt at home. Melissa efficiently registered us and took my bag up for me as we had had a long train journey along with the fact that I had hip bursitis developed in the last two weeks probably from twisting in and out of my car...lesson learned! Our two rooms were adjacent and had everything required for our stay. There was a very relaxed atmosphere in the hotel - other guests were friendly, some were bikers (yay!), some Dale walkers, a happy mixture.
Loved my bed, duck filled duvet, oh the list is endless, and wow the chefs did us proud too.

We booked last minute for a nearby wedding. We would be coming in late and were told how to get in and that we could help ourselves to milk from the fridges downstairs etc. It was a nice welcome :)

The exceptionally friendly welcome by the lovely lady who showed us to our room. The friendly barman and the locals who were having a couple of pints later when we came down to eat. Friendly bit of banter!

Clapham is a really nice village in the Yorkshire dales.
Clapham is a really nice village in the Yorkshire dales. It is an Ideal base for country walks and mountain walks. You can easily access the remote areas of the dales where you would not see another person all day long. I might regret having said that

Lovely place in the middle of the countryside about 20 miles due East(ish) of Lancaster. Small, quite sleepy village about 1 mile from the station which provides connections to Lancaster and Leeds (and more places I'm sure!). Safe and friendly with nice river flowing through it.

Clapham is a beautiful village. We went beginning of July. It was so quiet. I suspect in high tourist season it can be busy but during our stay Covid restrictions were still in place so no oversees visitors. Clapham has no nightlife so if that's what you want this us not the place to stay. If you want an evening stroll in a pretty little village this is beautiful place.
Clapham is the entry point to the Farrer trail that takes you to Ingleborough cave and beyond - beautiful!

Clapham is a very interesting, beautiful village on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Lots to see in the village, but Covid restrictions meant some of the little cafes and shops were closed. Lots of old buildings to admire and the village 'improvements' made by the Farrer family are worth investigating.
Brilliant hotel. Everything was perfect...we arrived for a 1 night stay on the way up to the lakes, around 7 30pm, check-in was quick, the room was perfect. We were able to eat in the restaurant which was great for us even though it was really bust. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the food was absolutely stunning. Breakfast was just as exceptional, will definitely return.

Could not of thought it was , what it was on arriving, a surprise Booking.com, and we was just blown away about the village itself, from bird boxes handmade, (bought 3 )and garden plants also…. Beautiful hotel and the staff were unbelievable…olly, Lauren, Murphy and the rest didn’t get there names….
Keep up the great work guys
Lovely friendly hotel. We were upgraded to a family suite. It was a big of a strange layout but I guess that happens when old buildings are converted for a different purpose. It had a huge bathroom with a lovely big clawfoot bath - just the thing after walking in and up Malham Cove!
This is a stunning hotel in a beautiful village. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely stay at the hotel which has such a homely/family feel to it. Rooms were beautifully clean and spacious and the breakfast/dinner was lovely!
