A modern, clean apartment. Good facilities and well provisioned (milk and teabags provided). Secure parking. Hot shower and soak albeit we experienced a drop in water pressure and temperature that we think was linked to using the kitchen tap at the same time. Very lovely village with many Tudor houses shops and pubs that have been carefully maintained. We visited for my son’s wedding as they live nearby, have been several times previously and look forward to many future stays. Coggleshall is a good base for us 40 mins from Westcliff (off peak times) where my other son lives and not for from London where my husband’s family live.

This place has function rooms for birthdays/weddings/etc, the hotel rooms are also relaxing, it also has facilities like The Gym, indoor pool with Steam Room, Sauna and Hot Tub, it also had a lovely bar called The Pulse that serves great food, and has kids colouring books and games for babies. This place just doesn’t have a hotel it is also a golf club where people can play golf.

Coggleshall is a pretty little village in Essex .

Coggleshall is a pretty little village in Essex . It isn’t big by any means but ample shops with lovely pubs and restaurants, everything needed for a quiet get away ! We stayed at The Woolpack pub (our first stay there and will definitely be going back) it was fantastic, a beautiful room, had a lovely lunch and such friendly staff . We ate at Ranfields Brasserie where we go every year for 3 birthday celebrations and it it such a fab restaurant with faultless food and service

Such a lovely 1400 rustic pub

Such a lovely 1400 rustic pub Staff were so accommodating, going that extra mile Even though the owner was behind the bar she went out of her way to help me with the WiFi She also put some syrup pudding aside as there was only three left The room was lovely and cosy , the bathroom was spacious with a huge shower The only negative I would say is the breakfast was a bit disappointing! Not the best quality and would have preferred a fresh Croissant and a tasty granola with small packets of cereal as my husband doesn’t like muesli. Orange juice was lovely and a good selection of hot drinks with an option to ask for more

It's a really nice hotel in a stunning location and has amazing facilities such as a top class gym, lovely swimming pool with sauna, steam, and jacuzzi (all included in booking). It's got an amazing restaurant and bar however it is abit over priced but worth it! Staff are really friendly and helpful and it has a massive car park! Beds are really comfy and rooms were very spacious! Only things I found were that the roads leading up to it had no pavements, the nearest train station is a few miles away (not sure where busses go from) but you may need a taxi to get there!

Nice old building with lots of character, in it's own extensive grounds away from the village. Plenty of parking. Indoor swimming pool and spa/gym complex adjacent to the hotel. Food was good. Very relaxing place to stay. Nice big room with separate shower room and wc closet. Helpful staff (helped with our bags up the stairs). Small bar area, lounge, library and snug. Sun terrace and large garden. Very '30's feel to it but the pool/gym complex is modern.

The room was very nice and very comfortable . First class shower. Best in England and in Europe. The lighting was also the best 4 start hotel we had in this European trip. Very efficient breakfast with staff extremely nice attitude. We would love to go again. Thank you for the lovely stay. God bless you all.

As we only eat healthy food options at home we prefer a warm, full English Breakfast when staying at hotels, but we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely breakfast basket and really enjoyed it. Lovely size room with large wooden beams and period features far more interesting than boring modern hotel rooms.

I was not able to eat at the restaurant as they could not fulfil my dietary requirements. They did not have an allegen folder and the chef would not come out of the kitchen to speak with me. So I could stay at the remote hotel and not use the restaurant. Which is shocking

The room was simply amazing, absolutely massive with a similar sized bathroom. Coggeshall is a really good place to visit with all the charm of Lavenham but minus the crowds, if you don't like karaoke avoid Thursday night. Some of the singers were excelleht btw
