FAQs about hotels in Crawley

Historic Gateway to Gatwick

The Sussex market town of Crawley is just south of Gatwick Airport, London’s 2nd busiest passenger terminal after Heathrow.

Its train station links directly to Gatwick, as well as to Victoria Station in London to the north, and Brighton to the south. Set roughly midway between the 2 cities, the town has long been an important stopping place. One of its 17th-century coaching inns – the George Hotel – still exists under the name of the Ramada Crawley Gatwick and is available on Booking.com.

However, the town’s history dates back much further than that. Records show it as being a market town as early as the 13th century, and its central Goffs Park has a museum containing some Stone Age remains found here.

Tilgate Park to the south has a lake, nature reserve and one of Crawley’s 3 golf courses. The town’s other leisure activities include bowling, a cinema and a collection of restaurants and pubs. The high street is a mix of historic buildings and modern shops, and more stores are found at Crawley County Mall.

Practically all of the Crawley hotels, guest houses and country houses provide parking and a few also have features such as swimming pools and gyms.

Nice enough satellite town for London.

Nice enough satellite town for London. Did not stay long enough to get a thorough insight into the place. Seems busy but not hectic. Couple of nice galleria/mall type places and a really good chippy just off the town centre.

Historic town with character, real ale houses and many local shops, good rail and bus transport links and detailed town maps, great little daily market next to large shopping centre at train and bus stations recommend Dixies chicken it was delish and a rival for KFC. The snooty Fox at three bridges station has great ales and friendly bar staff.

Everything was just perfect a classic authentic looking pub style hotel with very cozy fire place in the dining room and very comfy and cozy rooms. A pity there is no meal service as this place screams for a Sunday roast and the classics on a menu as a steak with 3 choice sauces, a pizza, a burger, a crab cake with greens, a classic fish and chips with mushy peas and tartar and two salads. That would make it the place to be with everything it needs (this is my personal opinion also taking in mind I am a private chef)

The rooms were clean as were the public areas. Staff were friendly and polite. However, whilst the food was good it was of a low standard and offered at an outrageous cost....b/fast was a plentiful buffet but £16 was steep.

Trivelles Gatwick Hotel was disgusting The 200 meter driveway was flooded which disguised the massive pot holes all the way down the drive the underside of my car scraped at least twice. The pictures of the palce must have been taken when first renovated which must have been somme time ago as it is very tired now. the bed linen was stained, it looked like someone has blown their nose on it, and I saw at least 3 cockroaches on the desk.

Great staff, personable and professional. Helpful in accommodating my husbands medicine which needs to be refrigerated. Surprised there was no mini fridge in the room. First room assigned to us, with an early check in, for an extra 10Eu was incredibly small. Went back to desk and they moved us to a room which we had originally booked, had a double and a single bed. Restaurant on property was clean, convenient, well priced and of great quality. Perfect for an airport hotel with many transient guests.

A really comfortable bed and a lovely room. Jade on reception was absolutely brilliant and really looked after us from the very moment we arrived until we left on the Tuesday. We can’t recommend and state highly enough how much her attentiveness added to in a positive way to our stay. She showed a genuine interest in us have the best stay at the hotel and was so helpful. She is definitely one of the positives about this hotel.

Ideal for flying from Gatwick, short taxi ride from the airport, the staff were exceptionally friendly and made every attempt to help when requested. My room was spacious and comfortable. If you don't have a car you would be advised to arrive with food because the hotel only provides evening snacks and restaurants are not within walking distance. Buffet breakfast is provided.

Didn't have breakfast at hotel. Position of hotel very good for Gatwick airport, or if you're doing National Trust visits in area like Chartwell. Plenty of hotel parking. Easy to get into town centre on foot with lots of eating places plus big cinema. Sainsbury's and The Range just across the road too.

Nothing to commend this awful hotel, the service is aggressive the rooms unclean and the less said about the plumbing the better. Dont think about staying here unless you want to be checked to prove who you are .. even if booked through booking.com . Bad bad bad place
