Our room was clean, comfortable, spacious and double aspect. The bathroom was large, modern and light and clean. There’s a big car park which we needed as we were travelling with a van containing very expensive bikes.
The actual food we ate at the evening meal was good( everything else around the experience wasn’t great) . The reception was friendly and efficient. When I pointed out plates left overnight in the corridor he was very apologetic

I got a room at the second floor. I had a very early start so went to bed early. All went well till midnight when I was vast a sleep. Drilling and hammering noises woke me up.

Apart from my replies to the questions, the staff were all lovely and very efficient, but Agnes went out of her way to be helpful

A beautiful little, 18C cottage in a lovely village with very comfortable beds, as good as any we have experienced in nearly 60 years of travelling. A small, cottage garden backing on to fields is just the job for a meal in the sun.
The village shop/Post Office/newsagent is only a few steps away, and has pretty well everything one needs, too.
We would have appreciated a microwave for our porridge, (but it tasted just as the same made in a saucepan).
Anyone over about 5ft 6inches will need to learn to duck as some of the doors and ceilings are very low (people were shorter when it was built). A folded handkerchief under a hat works well as a head protector for those with bad memories!
Thoroughly enjoyable and convenient for the local sites.
