The bed in room 5 was terrible. I’d like to advise the owner to sleep in there for a night. He will then go and get a new mattress or bed I would think. The rest of the place was delightful- however our sleep was terrible.

We had one of the smaller rooms but it did not lack in comfort - the bed was huge and super comfy, the shower was great too. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful and our dog 🐶 was made to feel very welcome. In our room there was a bowl of biscuits for him, a towel, poo bags and plastic mat for his bowl. Our dog's cage was placed under the room window, and the three of us had a comfy night with the windows open listening to the birds in the nearby trees. Dinner was good and very busy (always book a table), a bowl of water for our pooch and, lovely cocktails 🍸on the menu - a nice treat to have one! Breakfast was superb, a great range to choose from, and again, served by friendly, helpful staff. Excellent walks locally, particularly right opposite along the Dee, and further up the road to an open park. The Boat Inn excels in location, breakfast and staff - they're the best. This is a perfect example of a dog friendly destination 🐾🙌🐶🙌🐾

Everything was great. The apartment was clean and well equipped. Claudia was very kind and she left in the house some snacks for us. Parking is possible on the street in front of the house. Dog friendly acommodation.
You can glimpse majestic ospreys plunging into the loch, relax in the sumptuous spa, or take on two 9-hole golf courses amidst idyllic scenery at The Lodge.

Dinnet is lovely, very small village with stunning countryside. A lovely place to stay particularly in summer months and to explore by walking, cycling or driving.
It is very rural and use of a car advantageous to explore surrounding area, eating out etc.
Access to taxis is limited although believe there are buses. Not there long enough to explore further as there for an event.

Beautiful small village, quite and peaceful but with a hotel/bar if you need it. Within easy striking distance of shopping/restaurant facilities and close to all the natural beauty which surrounds.
Beautiful large property but had to phone owner for access no one at reception. No beer on tap was all switched off, no restaurant food for afternoon and evening, terrible service, bar lady was really nice , but no service for bar or food as if they were cutting back on staff and services,
No kettle in room or tea, coffee or biscuits, £105 for single bed in small room with no service whatsoever.
Would actually prefer a refund, had to phone for access to hotel and bar service. Definitely wouldn’t recommend
The Lodge is in a beautiful location on the edge of woodland and a short distance from Loch Kinord. For up to 4 people, the Lodge is spacious, quiet, reasonably comfortable and adequately equipped. There is a good hot water system and heating. There are 4 electric car charging points in the car parking area.
Lodge was comfortable, in a very pleasant position on the edge of the woods and was very conveniently located for us as visitors to Deeside Gliding Club. Although the Lodge had no washing machine, the hotel provided a good washing service at reasonable cost. The shower in the Lodge was excellent.
Great location near Loch Kinrod, beautiful trails right from historic hotel. Most excellent dinner, comfortable fireplace/bar seating, exceptional owner host/hostess. Good mix of beautiful historic and new updated features. Lots to do for many days in outdoors.
The hotel has a very friendly atmosphere and our room was very comfortable and clean. The staff were always on hand and were relaxed and very welcoming. Dinner was delicious and we were hard pushed to eat an equally tasty breakfast the following mornings!
The hotel was very friendly and well appointed. Our room was of modest size, with a four-poster bed, but it had a large balcony overlooking the grounds and also a large bathroom. The breakfasts and dinners while we were staying there were all excellent
Beautiful area and the photos don't do the hotel justice. Beautiful porches/balconies, great location for Balmoral or outdoor recreation.
Breakfast was terrific and the staff was attentive to our every need.
Hope to come and stay here again soon!
Location is beautiful. Lodge is well equipped and reasonably comfortable. Few facilities in Dinnet bur within easy each of Aboyne and Ballater for shopping and eating. Great base for touring the area.
The owners and staff were very welcoming. The hotel was warm and comfortable. The food was excellent. We enjoyed having a balcony. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly. A great place.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The evening meal was excellent. The location is lovely. Despite my comments on our dislikes we would definitely return to this quaint family ran hotel.
The hotel is like a family house, everything makes you feel comfortable and welcome. The restaurant, the bar as well as the rooms make one feel completely at home.
Breakfast is perfect just enough to get your day started remember this is a 3 star hotel and what they offer is more than what you would expect well done 👍
Quiet hotel half hour drive from Braemar and the Cairngorm mountains. Nothing flashy, looks like it was once a good small hotel but feels a it tired now.
