Sad that we had only scheduled a one-night stay in our itinerary. Would definitely go back.

First visit and what a gem of a place. Plenty of shopping for those who want it in a covered mall, plenty of choice for places to eat, and lots of lovely parks for walking and playing in the play grounds - all well kept. Dur to current situation the palace was closed but it just means we will have to come back when all this is over which is the perfect excuse!
The staff were very helpfull & friendly at such a scary time to be travelling,The staff were very polite & approachable as I didn't know the town very well they were Great, very helpful sorting out my internet for me I Didn't do the tourist things in Dumferline as I only stayed overnight,But would recommend as it's right in the centre perfect to get around Dumferline 😘👌
Pittencrieff Park is a fabulous place to visit. If has everything from large open green spaces to wooded areas with hidden waterfalls and beautiful garden areas. A large play area for the kids and a hidden locomotive. Believe there are also peacocks but despite walking for a good two hours we didn't come across the. The Abbey is very impressive and the town may not be the most exciting shopping area but it is clean and pleasant to wander around.
Check ahead! I went during the winter and found that some of the tourist sites were closed. The Abbey and Palace is really interesting and we were helped by a really informative tour guide. It is also worth visiting St Margaret of Scotland's relics in St Margaret's RC Memorial Church. We had a lovely meal at Carlucci - possibly the best Italian breadsticks I have ever had. The olive oil was also excellent! Cafe Fresh near the Abbey has a good lunchtime selection with good cakes. You might struggle to find herbal tea around town. Traditional tea and coffee is easier to acquire. There are also limited facilities open prior to 9am in the morning.
Loved the area nice people tea coffee their cosy & warm & private I am a clean freak so a little bit cleaner perhaps but it was clean to a good standard nice bed pillows comfy I enjoyed my stay thankyou guys kind regards would stay again reccomend this place
Go to Pittencrieff Park, masses of opportunity for walks. Look put for the bench dedicated to Stuart Adamson of Big Country. There is a theatre - the Alhambra, which unfortunately I did not get a chance to visit, as the show I was hoping to see was unavoidably postponed. Lots of little shops and cafes - loved my macaroni cheese at The Pancake Place.. Fife Coastal Path is lovely even in January, but if travelling by public transport check times first, as the trains start mid morning for Inverkeithing on a Sunday. Edinburgh is only about 40 minutes away by train.
