The farmhouse is practically in the middle of nowhere, which made our stay very quiet for a great night sleep.
The host is welcoming and friendly and she made us feel at ease around the farmhouse.
The property is as Scottish as can be and you may even help yourself to a dram of single malt in the library room.

Beautiful historical town.
Beautiful historical town. It is very quaint, but it is still so pleasant to walk around. There are a few small shops, bakeries, and restaurants with great food. Everyone there was so friendly. There are a few pubs with affordable prices and great atmospheres. A train station is close by so it is easy to get to bigger towns and cities as well. The town is extremely safe, even at night. I never felt uncomfortable walking around.

Scenery outstanding; village charming.
Scenery outstanding; village charming. The only downside was the lack of pubs/restaurants, as this was over the Xmas period; consequently, on Xmas Eve we booked an over-priced [and not very good] meal at the Tay Bank Hotel -o.k. for a seat if having a meal upstairs [no signs or directions, but a local told us] but small bar downstairs dangerously over-packed with people [getting near the bar to order drinks impossible]. Apart from this local monopoly, Dunkeld is a great place, especially for The Great Outdoors. A walk up nearby Birnam Hill gives wonderful views of the rich surrounding countryside and its cute villages.

Rooms and public spaces were excellent.
Rooms and public spaces were excellent. When we checked in we were told swimming pool closed, this was one of the main reasons we stayed. When I complained to Kenny the duty manager he told me everyone was advised when it was reopened. I told him we were not advised. He insisted we were and walked away. The rest of the staff excellent. Drinks way to expensive £46 for a £12 bottle of wine, £15.50 for a 250 ml glass of sauvingnon

Our stay was relaxing and we liked going on the various walks that were various options. We especially liked the walk along the river past Macbeth’s tree. The Cathedral is well worth a visit and the trees are part of the history too.

Limited place to eat at night, one hotel said when trying to book " the chef has not turned up" the next night they had a leak in the kitchen and could not take meal bookings. Lucky we were only in for the night and had bought food from the local butcher to cook for ourselves. Great for walks and very relaxing.
Absolutely outstanding - the room is so lovely and open plan, with the bedroom area annexed off. The kitchen is perfect with even things like tinfoil, kitchen roll, oil, and salt. So many lovely thoughtful touches, such as milk in fridge, ice in freezer, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, shower gel, that just made this the most heart warming places. Location is amazing and so many walks nearby and places not too far to get food and drinks. Thoroughly recommend and will definitely be back.
Room allocated was baltic and had condensation inside the windows. It took 5 hours to get them to change us to a room with heating. B/fast was OK, but dinner was another fiasco. The food was below standard for a hotel of their supposed rating, also the hotel restaurant and bar was closed Wednesday & Thursday. Total overall rating for value for money and food, I wouldsay about -10.
The location is excellent. The hotel is very clean and the staff are exceptionally friendly. Choice of breakfast times was good and the 11am checkout time was also a bonus. The free standing bath was a nice touch! The Z Terrace on the banks of the Tay was also very good and it was enjoyable to eat outside with a couple of beers by the silvery Tay.
I had an amazing stay during my solo trip! The staff is extremely lovely and friendly, always willing to help and give you directions and advice for the area and local shops. Only 15 minutes walk from the restaurants/pubs of Dunkeld, and only 1 hour drive to Glenshee Ski Centre. I'll definitely be back!! Thank you again for the lovely stay 😊
A slightly quaint and quirky, very people and dog friendly hotel set in the wonderful location of Dunkeld.
The restaurant and bistro offer a good selection of well prepared dishes, with the Sunday roast beef dinner our favourite.
Our recently refurbished junior suite provided excellent accommodation for our 3 night stay.
We would love to return to this gorgeous apt. All the Charles Rennie Mackintosh touches were lovely. Plenty of space - the smaller bedroom was great for an extra guest. Very handy location opposite the Birnam Arts Centre and about 15 min stroll into Dunkeld. Delicious pizzas at Birnam Inn. A really enjoyable stay.
Trevor was very welcoming, from the minute we walked through the door! Thankyou, Trevor for being so patient with our grandson. The breakfast was soooo good, well presented, hot and timely. We’ve been to other B&B’s in Dunkeld, which we’ve enjoyed, but this has been the best!!!!!
The hotel was close to all local facilities. We have stayed at the hotel on many occasions. It is dog friendly and the staff were very helpful and friendly 🙂. There are many eateries in Dunkeld. We especially enjoyed the Scottish Deli . Food was amazing and worth a visit.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Dunkeld. i wished had more time to spend there and have chat with people were already staying in.
A comfortable, modern two floor apartment in the centre of Dunkeld. A great location, parking outside the door, and comfortable beds. We really enjoyed our stay and our kids (5+3yo) loved the nearby playgrounds and nature walks.
the hotel is a beautiful building and is the epitome of cosy elegant grandeur without feeling over the top . The facilities are excellent and the staff are helpful and friendly but still remaining professional.
Such a lovely hotel. The rooms were beautifully decorated and made you feel right at home. The staff could not have been any more helpful with all our needs. The restaurant had excellent food and service.
The location is excellent for exploring Perthshire. Located in the countryside, very quiet and peaceful. It has everything you may need. Very spacious for 2 people, which is great for a change.
This is an amazingly beautiful and comfy tiny house. The scenery is breathtaking. It's quiet and peaceful, yet only 10 miles on good roads to nearest town, either Crieff or Dunkeld.
