We managed to book not long before we arrived and we chose it because of the late check in. It was great that the pub was able to accommodate us at such short notice. The staff were really helpful. The breakfast was really good.

I am very biased as I lived and worked in Duns for 4 years in fact I was married to a local girl in Duns church. It is a small friendly town and welcomes a large number of visitors. We chose Duns because of the Jim Clarke museum and had no preconceptions of the town. At first it seemed rather tired and run down but improved over the 5 days we stayed there. I walked the dog a lot so got to know the town fairly well. Lovely park, good walking near Duns castle and friendly people. We ate at the Black Bull, a friendly pub with good food reasonably priced and friendly locals. Lots of places of interest in and around the town also lots of places to visit a short drive away!! Duns is very quite good base to explore nearby places St Abbs lovely coastal walk. Eyemouth historic fishing village Berwick upon tweed fabulous place great walk round the walls of the city . All within a 30min drive from Duns.
