Cosy and comfortable with everything we needed. Great value and lovely breakfast. Really good to be able to use dining area for our own food and not expected to buy drinks from the bar

Lovely Hotel, 400 years old and lots of character, very friendly, regular bus service to Lockerbie, Annan, Gretna and Carlisle. We had a great adventure. Hotel was very friendly and we loved our stay. The food was good pub grub and the hotel was lovely as was the room. We had a beautiful on suite. A big comfy bed. Absolutely no complaints at all and we shall go back. Thank you Mary and our lovely barmaid Karen. Nothing was too much trouble.

We were welcomed as soon as we arrived by Ste who was more than helpful during our stay. The landlady made a point of coming to sit near us during the evening and we had a nice conversation not only with her but a local gentleman called Ben who we had a few drinks with. The barmaid was really good and although the place was busy she didn't drop a stitch. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again on the next trip to Scotland.

Reasonably priced.
Great location for a stop driving to Scotland its a rambling unique hotel very atmospheric place my room was large spotlessly clean and comfortable. Shower power was great and it even had a bath

My evening meal (gammon and chips) and breakfast were delicious.
The staff were lovely and friendly. I look forward to staying again.
Very friendly staff in this old-style family hotel. Although the hotel was almost full that did not prevent efficiency or have the staff behave in a harassed way. The hotekl has its own parking to the rear, but parking on the street is easy and safe in every way. A good breakfast.
Kelly and Fraser were very helpful and cheerful the room was very comfortable and the evening meal and breakfast were exceptional thanks to the owner Nigel for a lovely stay will be recommending this hotel to my family and friends if they are ever in the area.
The room was clean, very comfortable, the staff was amazing. Food was really good and breakfast fresh and tasty. They went above and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area.
We liked the location and the proximity to the hotel where we had dinner on the first night. We liked the size of all the rooms especially the bedrooms. The bedding and towels were spotless as were all the dishes in the kitchen.
The staff were warm, friendly and helpful.
The room very clean comfortable and well equipped.
The home-made food was delicious, good value and plentiful.
The old house where the hotel is based is grand and full of character.
Comfortable hotel with a friendly atmosphere
The owners were very accommodating
The breakfast was continental with the option for eggs on toast scrambled or poached
Good choice with ample on offer
Spent 1 night and the room was really clean with all details in place. Bit of fresh milk, different types of coffee, warm and same level of a hotel, but smaller.
This hotel was a great stay. Welcomed at the door, check in was quick, room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was perfect. Parking was good. Thank you.
