It was a very nice hotel smack dab in the midst of all sights. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was a pleasant surprise because we unexpectedly had a side view of the castle. The accommodations were comfortable and spotless. We had a huge bathroom and amenities were plentiful. I want to go back there!
After a few days in Edinburgh I have to say , what a beautiful city ! It's so authentic ! The buildings are beautiful, so many parks !! The parks are so green and with flowers . The streets a so wide compared to home ! The people so nice. Did I mention how much I love arriving at a restaurant and having tap water on the table immediately and without asking ?? Arthur's seat proved to be soooooo windy ! I thought it kind of dangerous to be honest. At the top the wind so off balanced I took a few steps back. But the view was great. The food is kind of expensive though ( 3.95£ for a croissant ). And in March the city lacks night activity I thought. Ate breakfast at Laura's kitchen and the painted rooster, I really recommend , they are great and good food ! The bus and tram are really convenient and a regular shuttle to the airport. The city center is really good to walk, everything is accessible from Edinburgh castle to holyrood park. Museums are free which is great.
Edinburgh is definitely one my favourite UK city I have visited to date. The History, Architecture, Museums and people are the main reasons I have fallen in love with the place. One minute you’re in the hustle and bustle of the busy main streets, the next you can find yourself in a quaint, quiet courtyard. This was my second visit and I’ve left eager to return. I would highly recommend the National Museum of Scotland, The Edinburgh Museum and The Story of the People museum.
Edinburgh was a wonderful city with great pubs and restaurants. The whiskey tasting experience was a delight and even though the weather was inclement our trip to Edinburgh Castle was wonderful. Our guide Steph was top class and though she had to contend with driving rain she was a delightful host.
Edinburgh is just beautiful the people are beautiful and so friendly and they also shouted for us in our six nation final ..the scenery is beautiful and we did the dungeons what a laugh it was great loved our stay ..well done Edinburgh
Lots to see: Royal Yacht Britannia - unmissable National Museum Several art galleries - all free Edinburgh Castle Ate out only once - Bar Napoli Italian restaurant - excellent Easy to get around - vg tram service from airport to city centre, and good down town bus service We found nothing to avoid. Edinburgh is a 'must do' city, loved it and wished we done it sooner. The Sonder apartment made the perfect base to see the city
Modern new hotel in central location one block off the Royal Mile. Easy walk to restaurants, bars and sights. Room was large and quiet with comfortable bed and had all of the amenities, including upscale shower, robes/slippers, unreal mini-bar, well placed outlets/charging ports. Hotel has two eating options onsite as well coffee bar in the library. Staff were helpful with all requests and questions. Loved our stay and definitely will be back next time we're in Edinburgh.
The hotel was located in a calm neighbourhood with art galleries and good restaurants around, but not far from the city centre, just a few-minutes walk. Its location allowed us to know different areas of Edinburgh. It was a house with history, which you could see from the paintings and other pictures. The room was very cosy with a nice decoration and had a great view. The staff were nice and open to help when needed. A charming place.
Stayed for one night and was very pleased with the hotel. Bar/dining area is fantastic and breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. All staff were very friendly and the hotel had an overall great atmosphere. Pool facilities were small but perfectly fine. It was expensive for a Holiday Inn but given the proximity to the zoo and Edinburgh City centre it's acceptable. Would definitely stay again.
Breakfast buffet was more than ample. GF options and best organised I have ever seen for guests with any food intolerances. Very practical and well organised hotel. Staff very professional and efficient. Great base for exploring Leith or for going into Edinburgh city centre. Family, couple, people on business friendly. It ticks all the boxes. Bright and airy. Would not hesitate to recommend!
The hotel was immaculate, beautiful and stylish. The staff were friendly and informative. An excellent location for Edinburgh city centre. We were travelling for our wedding anniversary - we received a quiet room as reassured, as well as a thoughtful card from the hotel staff and the room was decorated with rose petals! So romantic and it really made our day
Excellent location for people coming by car from the south. Quiet part of Edinburgh with great views over Arthur's Seat but very close to the old town. Lots of restaurants in close proximity. Good sized room with newish bathroom, nice bathroom products, quality bedlinen and towels. Excellent breakfast.
Staff are always welcoming and friendly. Always remember myself and my daughter and greet us by name when we arrive! We never stay anywhere else in Edinburgh. Can walk to grass Market in less than 5 minutes, Royal Mile in less that 10 and 15 minutes into the full city centre (new town) hotel is spotless
The location of the hotel was pretty good, it's very well communicated with Edinburgh city centre and the regions by public transport. Beds are big and comfortable. Our bathroom was new and clean, hygiene staff was really nice and there was everyday service.
For what you pay, the size of the rooms are incredible! So close to the city centre, castle and restaurants. Brilliant staff also welcoming, friendly and really helpful. Definitely my go to hotel in Edinburgh, can not recommend enough.
Only thing i liked was where the hotel is based not far from the city centre of Edinburgh which was helpful (also the people we met who was in the same boat as us made our night even though everything that was going on.
Location was great, short walk to the train and Royal Mile. The city centre bus goes from the airport and stops right around the corner from the hotel. Breakfast was tasty and there was a good selection of food.
Lovely boutique hotel. Friendly Concierge. Gorgeous walk into the New and Old Town area. Had some sights to see as well close by to the hotel, like the Botanical Gardens and Dean Village.
The location. The hotel is just in the middle of Edinburgh's Old Town, so most of the historic and sightseeing places are very near. The breakfast was very good too.
Hotel staff were, at all times, pleasant and helpful. Location was absolutely perfect for tram service to Edinburgh City Centre. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Fantastic hotel close to Murrayfield Stadium. Excellent transport links to Edinburgh city centre.
