In Edinburgh city centre, less than 500 metres from Haymarket Rail Station, the Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh offers great value, with modern family-friendly en suite rooms and a restaurant-bar. The accomodation was excellent from all points of view. They allow us to check in early, the room was very clean and fresh, the bed was very comfortable and as well the sheets warm and cozy. The room was well lightened and warm, we set up the thermostat to the desired temperature for the hole stay. We had free toiletries that as well were changed each morning if they run out. The water was warm too and the bath tub cozy enough so you can take a nice warm bath. We had tv and free wi fi along with tea bags and coffee, they offered us free water on the first day (we found it in the room when we checked in). And as a last thing they were very friendly, the stuff was very polite and the food amazing with various choices, especially in the mornings. They allow us to stay one more hour in the room after check out since our flight was late. Definitely a good experience and we will come back.

Prestonfield House, 24 Royal Terrace and The Bonham have received great reviews from travellers in Edinburgh regarding the views from their hotel rooms.
It was a very nice hotel smack dab in the midst of all sights. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was a pleasant surprise because we unexpectedly had a side view of the castle. The accommodations were comfortable and spotless. We had a huge bathroom and amenities were plentiful. I want to go back there!
The visit to Edinburgh was amazing but we wished we could've stayed there longer. We went to Animus Salon and got massage and facials, they even offered, coffee, tea or some wine. We went to a restaurant called Zizzi's because one of our friends is vegan and they have vegan and vegetarian options there. The hotel we stayed at was the Guard's Hotel and the beds were extremely comfy and the space in the rooms were great. We went on the tour busses around Edinburgh and decided to take in the history of Edinburgh while also planning our next visit for our friend's birthday in a few months time. (We're planning to stay longer this time.) The overall experience was amazing but we advise that you spend more than just a night over in Edinburgh as there is so much to explore.
Lovely hotel set off road, parking available. very friendly member of staff, also very helpful. :-) The bedroom & bed were comfortable with tea, coffee & milk, more given if asked for. Has it's own bathroom & TV. Loved our breakfast, a wide choice available :-) A warm & friendly welcome & Hotel a pleasant place to stay. Highly recommended :-)
I love the hustle and bustle and ambience of Edinburgh. I love princes street for shopping. St Andrews square with live music and bars etc and is lit up at night. The hard rock cafe was our choice for an eateries and we weren't disappointed and they serve amazing cocktails too! The omni centre for the cinema for up to date new movies out. The seating is so comfortable now with lots of leg room. All within easy walking distance to each other. I stayed at the Balmoral Hotel which is in close proximity of all attractions. The hotel staff, food, stay was second to none.
We stayed in Edinburgh for a theatre trip, which was fantastic. (Mary Poppins). The Carlton Hotel was a good location in relation to the festival theatre, however due to renovation work going on right outside the hotel and scaffolding obstructing your view from the rooms, I think we would choose another hotel in the future if we came back to Edinburgh, at least till all the work has been completed. The price of £160 a night would have given us other hotels to choose from without disruption .
Edinburgh is lovely city. There is lots to see and do and good shopping options. Unfortunately many restaurants and bars close their kitchens at 9:00 pm. If you are arriving late or get back from a tour late, it can be quite challenging to find a place close by to eat. The old Waverly Hotel offers a delicious Haggis at their bar restaurant. If you are not familiar with the UK, skip included breakfasts with your hotel and instead go to a Marks & Spencer (M&S) or Pret-A-Manger for healthy and inexpensive breakfast items and lunches. There are enough of these around that there should be one close by. Near Edinburgh Castle there is the Edinburgh Wool Mill. If you go inside you can actually make your way down to the bottom of the building and watch wool and tartans be made; it's free and a neat things to be able to say you've seen.
Beautiful location, friendly staff. Great service.

Very convenient, tram, local and airport buses stop right outside with pub just next door with good meal specials from sundays to Thursdays. A 15- 20 min walk into town. Very compact with minimal cupboard space, so not good if you planning to spend more time in room. But if you gonna be exploring and going out , good with.freindly staff .
