The position was perfect as my husband and I love ships and boats! We were upgraded on arrival to a room with a view of the quay! The bed was luxurious and the staff delightful!

Charming old building, good location, easy to find parking in the street nearby. The meal in the pub was very good. Also a proper English breakfast.

Felixstowe has a really good promenade giving access from Langaurd Point to Old Felixstowe and beyond via a short beech walk to the Ferry Boat Inn. The prom also gives access to a good range of cafe, bar and eating establishments, the spa Pavilion being well worth a visit, the town itself is but a short walk from the pier and has a pleasant pedestrian only high street

Although the weather was less than kind, my stay was pleasant and comfortable. The Great Orwell Hotel was the ideal venue for my need to be near the centre of town and close to the seafront for a bracing morning walk.

Felixstowe has something for everyone.
Felixstowe has something for everyone. There is a great mix of shops - chains and independents. The beaches are clean with decent facilities and amusements. The Dock end has the fort and museum with the excellent cafe. The amusement arcades are generally clean and varied with fast foods between. The pier has the obligatory slot machines with a cafe and food kiosks near the leisure centre. Old Felixstowe has quieter beaches and a large carpark. The ferry end is quieter but charming.
What we don't enjoy...the bumpy, bouncy roads and the ban on motorhomes in most of the car parks.
After being in such a bad hotel which I left with 3 days left. I booked this lovely place it was cosy, and the bed was really comfy. The view was great, and Donna was very nice.I didn't realise the tv only had bbc, iplayer, and your own netflix. I kept searching, and Donna explained as I thought it had gone wrong, just me, though, lol
My room was large with a decent sized bathroom. There were plenty of tea bags, coffee sachets and milk. The bed was comfortable and there was some parking at the front of the hotel. To be fair there's plenty of parking on the street nearby. I had a nice large breakfast each morning and the bar was large and well stocked.
We really enjoyed our stay in this pleasantly presented flat close to the shops and beach. Felixstowe is a great little town, too.
Thanks very much to the owner for the thoughtful gift of bread, crisps and biccies on arrival.
The caravan was very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, bathroom and balcony area, there was everything you could need.
There were games and dvds to use which were very welcome.
All info was clear and helpful.
Position of hotel is excellent, what an opportunity for Best Western to update and improve on the condition of this hotel as there are far too few hotels in Felixstowe.
Bedding and towels all very clean.
We love staying at The Orwell Hotel because of its location and friendly & welcoming staff but also the character & history it has. Excellent value for money too.
Beautiful apartment with nice partial view of the ocean. Easy walkability in great area for walks along the beach and near a park. Perfect for children.
