The property was spotlessly clean. Really comfortable and perfect for our overnight family stay. The facilities were amazing, even had board games and a selection of toys. Already looking at when I can book to go back.

Young bar girl working was lovely, unsure how she does it. Location is great if starting the Cumbria Way.

It was brilliant.. the staff, room, food and bar had no complaints. Everyone was so welcoming not only to us but also to our fur baby. Rooms were cleaned daily really happy with our stay. Our fur baby was given treats and a fuss at every opportunity.

The greeting I received was so warm and friendly.
The location is great - and there's a lovely garden to get a different view of the estuary.
My room was very comfortable.
The dining room is spacious and pleasant as is the bar area.
The food I had was tasty and beautifully prepared and served.
There's an adjoining carpark
It's a bit like a Town that time forgot ....... With a bit of effort it could be greatly smartened up generally and be made much more appealing ... The Hope and Anchor is a lovely pub with very good food at reasonable prices and dog friendly.....

Very friendly and helpful staff.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Cook who prepared great meals for us. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Room very well presented. Excellent choice and quantity at breakfast time and the offer to take away food for lunch time if you wished!
We hope to go again and recommend it as a place to stay.
Easy parking and free in the village square just in front of the Hope and Anchor. We are evening meals in the pub. Very easy to walk in the surrounding countryside, which is attractive. We visited Grange over Sands and took the train across the bay to Arnside. We visited Levens historic house , Holbeck Hall , and Muncasrer castle as well as walking on the coastal path.

Interesting history, vibrant community and good facilities...
Interesting history, vibrant community and good facilities for a village with an artisan baker, large church and railway station.
We ate in the Hope and Anchor. The beef burger and falafel burger were both well flavoured. Good selection of wines and local beers on tap.

Just south of the lake district.
Just south of the lake district. About half hour drive to Grizedale forest (family friendly walks, bike trails and go ape) or Windermere. Really good location for exploring South lakes. Lots of outdoor activities nearby. Lots of Haven park activities for families but we didn't try as only have a one year old. We didn't go into the village but there's a chippy, post-office etc.
We had fish and chips from the Haven chip shop. They were undercooked and batter was stodgy. Wish we had tried the chippy in the village.
