Spacious room with nice skylights letting in extra light. Great location for access to walks around the Peak District especially if you are relying on the train as it is only a 5 minute walk from the station. Staff were flexible when I arrived a bit early. Good wifi (but had to ask for the password). Main street with restaurants, cafes and other shops just at the end of the street.

Standard room was small but nice.
Sadly we're woken by banging above us around 3am. We later found out it was from the staff bedroom.
We ate in the restaurant and the food was worth the visit alone

An exceptional hotel. The staff were lovely, the location perfect and the room spotless. We enjoyed this so much that we immediately booked another stay. A massive thank you to all the staff and the owner, who went out of his way to make us welcome. We also dined in the H bar and restaurant which was similarly excellent

Froggart is probably one of the prettiest villages in the Peak District with good walks and pretty central to be able to get to everywhere without being touristy.
2 minutes down the road from Calver which has all the local amenities and it’s over looked by froggartt edge which is a great walk with amazing views onto the village

You need to drive down a narrowing country road to get to it but once you get there, there’s a parking bay immediately outside the property.
The property is very clean which in this day and age is very important and the room comfortable. However, we had trouble turning on the shower and was given a rubber band by the owner to use around the round handle for better grip. Apparently, they’re aware of the problem/issue but according to the gentleman there’s nothing they can do about it. All showers have the same problem/issue.
As far as the breakfast was concerned, I had full English on the first morning and porridge on the second day. I’ve eaten much better full English breakfast but the porridge was very nice.
In summary, we loved the cleanliness and quietness of the place but the shower issue and the breakfast let it down slightly. Both proprietors, especially Vivian, are nice and helpful.

Plenty of lovely walks in the area that were within walking distance and lots more within 10 minutes in the car, especially if you have dogs. We visited The Bridge Inn for food and drinks, this was a lovely dog friendly pub with a lovely riverside back garden. Several other pubs in the area too that were dog friendly which was a bonus for us as we had taken our dog with us.

A lovely wee place, close to lots of interesting places to visit. Nice local pubs. Eyam (the village that quarantined itself when they got the plague in the 1600s) was very close - walking distance or a short drive. Lots of nice walks. The reservoir where the Dam Busters practised is also a short drive away. If the weather doesn't play ball, Haddon Hall is a short drive away and was an amazing place to visit, with a good cafe too.

Located ideally for many walks.
Located ideally for many walks. Places to eat within 5/10 minutes drive . Only 1 place to eat in village , which is a bit of a negative.
Plenty of circular walks also within 10 minutes drive where you can park on the side of the road.

The Chequers, only 10 minutes walk away threw The Green cut threw, but bit muddy as not proper path mainly grass and path slippy in parts. Food here bit dearer than other pubs we visited but lovely and service and pub great. Around £16 for a steak pie and mash but it fabulous and big, well worth it.
The Derwent water arms, good solid tasty food, around £10 for a main meal, all nearby around 5/10 mins drive from Froggatt
Sir William inn lovely food again , good choices all looked good.
Chatsworth . well worth a visit. House stunning and Gardens so lovely, much better than expected.
This was our second stay at Rock View we came last year and couldn’t wait to return. The cottage is clean and the rooms are spacious with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Froggatt is a beautiful old village with walking paths in every direction not just the hills but also along the lovely Derwent Valley, we hardly used our car all week. There are four pubs serving really good food within easy walking distance. The owner Kathy was very helpful with ideas etc and we hope to see her again next year.
Lovely quiet place to stay. The room was lovely and very clean. The shower was great , just what was needed after a long 12 mile walk.
Breakfast was was very nice .
Parking spot a bonus.
We would definitely stay at the Old Orchard again ... an ideal place to stay especially if you like walking/ hiking. River walks or Froggatt Edge hike are close by .
A beautiful property in the heart of Froggatt. Delightful period features with a lovely sunny terrace. Large rooms provide space to unwind and relax. Kathy the owner was friendly and approachable. The location is a great place to start many walks along the river Derwent and Froggatt Edge but also further afield. We will return.
The hotel needed completely updating in the corridors ,stairs and bedrooms. The carpets on the stairs were old and dirty looking. Furniture in bedrooms need modernising. Room noisy as on busy main road. Breakfast was really good. Dinner too but overpriced. Staff were good.
The location is great. The views from the bedroom were fantastic. Easy to find using sat nav and very easy to get to places around. The shower is very powerful! Good cooker breakfast too.
Staying here, please ensure you visit Froggatt Edge which was amazing
The location is ideally placed for walks along the river Derwent, Froggatt Edge, Padley Gorge and many other beauty spots. There are lots of places to eat and drink near by. We found the property to be very quiet and comfortable.
The location was beautiful and we really enjoyed Froggatt. The host provided a very helpful booklet of information which gave a number of recommendations of things to do, places to eat etc.
Small purpose created space, bright and fresh. Well equipped and immaculately clean. Perfect location for us. Gorgeous setting with great views of countryside and Froggatt edge.
