Its location was very convenient for our stay, the fact that it was near the town, very spacious and clean room, comfortable bed and well appointed en suite bathroom.

Great stay. Hotel was super clean and quirky. Outside space was glorious in the good weather. Breakfast excellent! Restaurant Manager (with moustache!) was super friendly and helpful - great front of house.

Lovely scrambled eggs and fruit for breakfast - with view of the lake and friendly staff. Also very comfortable room - no problem when I asked for a room with a bath. Liked all the nice bath products and lotions as well.

    I wasn’t coming for pleasure so had dinner in the hotel both nights. Just 3 parking spaces ludicrous. However, public car park free after 6.30pm right through Sunday. But as I had arrived on Friday it would have cost more into Saturday morning. The room 104 was small and over the kitchen air con units. On the plus side, short corridor outside and no upper storey so blissfully quiet. Would have preferred a bath.

    I had breakfast in Witherspoons, it was fine. I was shown around by family i was visiting. Do not stay at the Inn on the Lake, unless you have come into money. If you have stay somewhere else anyway.

    Godalming is an attractive small town on the edge of the Surrey Hills. We’re regular visitors, our daughter and family live there. The area around the high street has some good shops, nice restaurants, pubs and it seems like there’s a new coffee shop opening each week.

    An interesting little town that has retained much of its character despite morphing into another notch in the London commuter belt. The centre has some good independent shops. The park has a poignant memorial to the radio operator on the Titanic. The meadows next to the Wey navigation offer pleasant walks. The woods at Winkworth arboretum are spectacular all year round. Road and rail links to London and the south coast are very good.

    I know NOTHING about Godalming - apart from the fact that it has a branch of Waitrose and that booking.com has decided that we stayed there - we were actually on the outskirts of a village called Compton, nearest main town Guildford.

    Comfortable apartment in a good location in the centre of Godalming main street. It was well furnished, comfortable bed and clean. Also very quiet which was nice given its location. There were reverse air con units in each room so nice and warm. Wi-fi was good. Kitchen was clean and had everything included although we didn't actually use it apart from making tea. The price was competitive for the time of year and if that was the case in the future we would stay again.

    Great location and suited our stay in town for a family wedding perfectly. The staff was very, very friendly and went above and beyond on several occasions to ensure we had what we needed, even going so far as to setting out breakfast very early on our check out day because they knew we had to be off ahead of the normal breakfast time. The restaurant and pub areas are beautiful and served as a great socializing area for our family and friends between wedding events.

    Since the refurbishment, it's a spanking new shiny hotel. Lovely cosy feel to it, & very in keeping with the style of the property. Lovely breakfast (included) with many delicious options. Whilst I didn't use the restaurant on the nights of my stay, I had eaten there a few weeks before & the food was excellent. Hope the beer garden will be completed soon, & those beautiful coach lights on the patio get connected!

The pub is warm and inviting with delicious food and drink, fireside seating, local flavor and an authentic pub ambience. The rooms are beautifully appointed with lush bedding and towels.     It was dog friendly, it was clean, spacious and had everything you would need. We had come down, having moved away from the town for a family party, so very convenient area for us. There is parking on site, an enclosed garden for the dogs, just everything that’s needed. The owners were great, kind, polite and nothing would have been too much trouble for them.

    set in a quiet location just on the edge of Godalming, the venue is outstanding. A lovely beer garden outside and a warm cosy open fire on the inside. The evening dinner was excellent. Staff are very open and engaging. Plenty of parking space. The room was lovely and incorporated everything you require.

    Withies far exceeded our expectations. The rooms are nicely updated and comfortable while the restaurant and bar remain authentic and historic. Hugh and his team could not have been more welcoming. Breakfast was one of the best we had in England. We would definitely stay again.
