The Maynard, hotel in Grindleford Bridge

Set in Grindleford Bridge, 11 km from Chatsworth House, The Maynard offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

Standard room was small but nice. Sadly we're woken by banging above us around 3am. We later found out it was from the staff bedroom. We ate in the restaurant and the food was worth the visit alone

Little John Hotel, hotel in Grindleford Bridge

In the centre of Hathersage, The Little John Hotel provides bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation in Derbyshire’s Peak District.

Spacious room with nice skylights letting in extra light. Great location for access to walks around the Peak District especially if you are relying on the train as it is only a 5 minute walk from the station. Staff were flexible when I arrived a bit early. Good wifi (but had to ask for the password). Main street with restaurants, cafes and other shops just at the end of the street.

An exceptional hotel. The staff were lovely, the location perfect and the room spotless. We enjoyed this so much that we immediately booked another stay. A massive thank you to all the staff and the owner, who went out of his way to make us welcome. We also dined in the H bar and restaurant which was similarly excellent

    Grindleford is a lovely place.

Grindleford is a lovely place. There are some nice walks hereabouts and the railway station (Grindleford) is across the road - and down the drive - with links to Hathersage, Hope and Edale in one direction and to Sheffield in the other.

    What a stunning location!!

What a stunning location!! Padley Gorge was just like a dream. Walked around the surroundings and was just impressed with the surroundings. The amazing green grass, the free walking cow's the trees.. I know it sounds silly, but I live in London.. a very different vibe, haha... honestly, highly recommend.

It is a good location for exploring north Derbyshire but a car is essential to get to interesting locations quickly. The actual village of Grindleford only consists of a few houses along the main road. Our hiking days are in the past so we restricted ourselves to Buxton,, Bakewell, Chatsworth and the villages from Hathesage along to Castleton and also Eyam. Try to choose a long hot, dry summer for this hilly area! .

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and excellent choice of breakfast. Bedroom smaller than anticipated and would not book this size again. Roman blind would not go up and staff removed string when reported which we were unaware of until we tried to pull it up the following day. Dirty cushion on bed replaced when we reported. However, overall, we would be happy to recommend hotel.

I booked a superior family room at short notice for 2 children and 1 adult - I later had to call as my other child wanted to come. The hotel was so accommodating and even added another bed to the room. There was a super king, a double sofa bed and a single bed in the beautiful and well equipped (very large) room. I had the best nights sleep! The breakfast in the morning was delicious and although no buffet option, it was varied and plentiful. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

We liked the management of the booking, the quality and qualities of the staff (friendliness, enthusiasm, positivity, professionalism, courtesy). The room was supreme, with a lovely view over Grindleford and beyond, and the breakfast tasted as wonderful as any breakfast I've ever had. Someone has done a superb job of re-launching this excellent Peak District destination. Thank you so much one and all for a lovely stay.

I'll list the positives: The location is amazing. The staff are friendly and hardworking and are a credit to the hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and extremely spacious. Breakfast was great, freshly cooked, great quality, and loads to choose from. We had an evening meal, a good varied menu and the food was fantastic. We highly recommend the Cassoulet.

The hotel is a beautiful building, full of character. The food was excellent, we had breakfast and an evening meal and both were of a really high standard. Location is excellent to get out and explore the Hope Valley which is a beautiful part of the world. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of free parking available too.

It was a really lovely little hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We were up in a room in the attic which was absolutely lovely, clean and spacious. The bathroom was also clean and we were provided with 2 lovely big bath sheets, not the usual tiny little hotel towels.
