Lovely setting, it is next to a main road though, so some might want to bear that in mind.
Paul was a great host for our first day, and Claire was a fantastic host on our second day. Nothing to much trouble, very friendly and happy to have feedback.
Food very tasty, and fairly priced.
Shower was nice and powerful.
Great for people that want to take there dog with them, we don't have a dog, but a good facility and our room didn't smell of dogs at all.
Nice towels and bed linen.

Stayed here a few times now. In centre of Castleton. Twin bed room tops floor very comfy beds. Breakfast excellent the lady serving breakfast is lovely.

Nice village. Lovely walks around it so it’s a good base. Chip shop. Maazi for curry - nice. The plough inn or Little Johns for drinks. The plough inn for good food. Not much in the way of shops. Nisa local or a One Stop, if you want food for walking. We did the Hathersage, Stoke ford, Eyam Moor, Grindlow, Hucklow edge walk via Leadmill (from the plough inn front door)

Great location for exploring this part of the Peak District, with excellent public transport. Lovely coffee shops and of course the beautiful David Mellor shop and museum and the local heated outdoor swimming pool.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Hathersage is a great location for loads of fabulous walks and attractions in the local area. Ofcourse Hathersage itself has the outdoor, heated lido and there are many quaint country pubs scattered locally serving delicious food.

We only stayed for one day and night.
We only stayed for one day and night. The highlight for us was dining with family and friends at The Scotsman's Pack. Relaxing in the quirky dining room at The Millstone Inn before staying the night was a great experience. It is a pleasant, sleepy little town.
It is a pleasant, sleepy little town. Not much to do or see here, but some nice walks and easy to access from Sheffield. I came here for a climbing trip (recommend) and walked around the countryside, which was nice.

The fridge in the kitchen has bottles of water and juice that we could help ourselves to. Lynne is a wonderful host, so kind and helpful. Walking distance to the centre of Hathersage, perfect location. The continental breakfast was delicious and plentiful. My son loved the table football! The bed was so comfy and loved the shower. The owner kept in contact and followed up after our stay. Although positioned above the butcher's shop and on the junction of two roads it is quiet at night. Hathersage is a great base for exploring the Peak District with excellent walks from the village and has a train service to Sheffield and Manchester. Recommended.

The rooms next to ours were in the process of being decorated, so maybe our room will be done soon. The rest of the hotel was very stylish. Breakfast and bar food was excellent. Staff very friendly and professional. Weather was terrible while we were there, but even so, Hathersage and the area are beautiful.

It's a lovely hotel/pub in a great location for walking around the region. Lovely food and a cosy vibe in the evenings. Great to be able to park safely in the car park opposite.
