Located in Hayfield, 17 km from Buxton Opera House and 24 km from Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens, Millie's Bed & Breakfast provides accommodation with free WiFi in a historic building.

Very friendly welcome in central hayfield. But it is not b and b as no breakfast iin price.A nice place if spend 1 night crashout after long walk and beers, but very noisy room, squeaky floorbords and very noisy plumbing system so hear other occupants flushing loos and showering and coming and going. Had a nice breakfast when tea room opened but very limited as owners do not offer normal English breakfast as pork omitted.Very popular for afternnon teas as cakes look scrummy.

The Bulls Head, hotel in Hayfield

Set in Glossop and within 20 km of Victoria Baths, The Bulls Head features a bar, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property.

Breakfast was excellent; interesting that it was at a different location, another lovely pub just down the hill. Dinner at the Bull’s Head was great, chips fantastic (real potatoes, not frozen). Friendly informal surroundings in cosy rooms on the main floor of the pub; bedroom was a good size with a very comfortable king-sized bed with immaculate coverings. The staff were fabulous, everyone so incredibly friendly and welcoming in ways we hadn’t experienced before in the south of the country, which seems much more formal. We loved the location across from the churchyard. It was very peaceful, lots of birdsong. Bit difficult to find at first, but some friendly local folk helped us find our way. Glossop seems like a really lovely community.

We didn't actually see much of Hayfield, but the bar in the hotel was a perfect local retreat. We didn't try the food, apart from breakfast, because we were having a friends reunion at a different location. I do know that Hayfield is an excellent place for walking and outdoor pursuits.

Hayfield is an interesting village and worth a walk around, A number of hikes can start here and it is easy to get into the dales and the peak district. There are good facilities in the village if you are in self catering.

Hayfield is a great place to stay and has lots of walks around the peak district. We had a great meal at The Sportsman's Inn, a 10 minute walk from the centre, but advise booking. Perfect for a walking holiday.

The George Hotel is ideal for a short break or a 'couple of nights'. What particularly irritates me is some of the negative feedback people give -- It is a 16th century building, a country hotel: What do some people expect? The Ritz? As I always say: It is MORE than adequate for the price -- If you want the Ritz, go and pay the price and stay there. You won't get Savile Row for a tenner, I always say!

Very good location in the centre of Hayfield village. Owner kindly allowed early bag/food drop off. Parked outside The George Hotel pub opposite; it serves a good Guinness. Spent two wonderful days walking to Kinder Scout and Edale; trails start just a short distance from the property. Cottage has very adequate cooking and bathroom facilities. Sit on the balcony and appreciate the views yonder.

The george was a cute little village hotel with great staff who were very friendly and accommodating. The selection at breakfast provided ie youghts, cereal and porridge were lovely. Our room was very comfortable with en suite and a very spacious shower. I would recommend you visit this beautiful 16th century hotel if you ever find yourself in hayfield.
