A lovely place to stay. Very comfortable bed and pleasant room. All the staff were really helpful and friendly. We ate dinner in the pub and it was wonderful. I can highly recommend the fish and chips. The breakfast was also great.

The lady who was doing front of house and reception was lovely and welcoming. I had a really comfortable night in my room after a long journey. Sadly I didn’t have time to explore the Lake District as I was travelling for work but it is a great location for those who have time to have a proper break. There is lots to do in the area.

Location, superb. Food, had lunch, dinner and breakfast - all delicious. Staff were exceptional, especially Leanne (reception) and Reuben in the dining room (it was his first week, he was lovely)

Did the job, cute wee room above a traditional Cumbrian pub. Great place to stay if you also want to enjoy some real ales and Cumbrian food. The staff were all lovely and it had good heating (not always the case in these parts). The breakfast the next day was tasty and served in front of a roaring fire.

Due to traffic we arrived quite late, but the staff was so kind and accommodating, getting us some dinner despite being time for their kitchen to close. The staff during our stay has been extremely attentive, so helpful and friendly. We have loved staying here.
The location is perfect for outdoor activities, the village is gorgeous and the garden to have a drink is beautiful, with great views. The room was big and comfortable, the beds were nice. The only 2 things we didn't quite enjoy in the room were the pillows, a bit hard, and the room is very light in the morning. Although the views are so beautiful.
The food is nice, although I wish there were a few more healthy choices, but we loved breakfasts. The whole vibe is great, we'd love to come back.

The Farmstead is actually located in Water Yeat not High Nibthwaite. Water Yeat is a beautiful tiny hamlet. Nearest shop or pub is in Coniston. Beautiful night skies, no light pollution. Enjoyed the peace and quiet. Fantastic pub meal at White Hart Inn at Ulverston, about ten minutes drive.
