As a family we enjoyed our stay at the nook, the cottage was spacious, well-equipped and clean. It was a great base for us to explore the lake Windermere, Cartmel and Grange over the sands. The host Clare kept in contact and there was plenty of information in the cottage. It felt like a home away from home where we instantly felt comfortable and had a great night's sleep too. We will miss our stay at the beautiful Nook cottage.

Breakfast and dinner were both very good, breakfast plenty of selection from cereals toast and fruit juice through to an extensive variety of traditional cooked options all cooked and presented very well.
Dinner menu had plenty of variety with a number of daily specials on offer, all cooked and presented very well and appropriately priced.

It was brilliant.. the staff, room, food and bar had no complaints. Everyone was so welcoming not only to us but also to our fur baby. Rooms were cleaned daily really happy with our stay. Our fur baby was given treats and a fuss at every opportunity.

The house was in a great location, sea views and easy access to lots of things to do without being in the heart of the Lake District. Proximity to Cartmel a bonus - without being in the middle of it !
We ate at Heft- Sunday Service at lunchtime, the pub area was great and the food sublime!
The Pheasant pub was within walking distance, nice atmosphere and well supported.
Went to Yew Tree Barn Xmas Fayre, great to see all the local artisans there.
